Did Jehovah really prove his sovreignty?

Before the issue of sovreignty came up between God and Satan, humans were in a perfect state. Then Adam and Eve sinned, and Satan challenged God's right to rule. God took Satan up, and allowed humans a chance to prove that they could govern themselves, independent from him.

But first he inflicted them with sickness, death and imperfection. In essence, he stacked the deck against humanity so that they would fail. Couldn't humans have fared better in living apart from God had he left them in the state in which he created them?

Amazing how non-sensible it all is after you take a step back and really examine it.......minus What Does the Bible Really Teach book, and any other WT propaganda.

I always had an issue with sovereignty between God and Satan. If God wanted to proof that humans couldn't govern themselves without him what was the flood, sodomo and gomorrra, the Egyptian plagues, etc..?

I was never fully conviced of that logic.

God does not have "prove" his sovereignty to anyone. He is Sovereign over all because he created all things and because of him we live, breath and exist. Peace, Lilly

How come God can't steer a BAPTIST School Bus full of little kids for beans....

    Designs,

I think you are confusing God with Superman. You see, superman is the one who saves people from car crashes by jumping in front of buses, etc. God is the one who ultimately saves us from death, so that even if we die, we shall live. Peace, Lilly

That doesn't really address my initial post. God was trying to prove that Satan was wrong, that humans couldn't govern themselves, independent from him. He had to inflict humanity with all sorts of shortcomings in order to accomplish that.

There are people who live in apartment houses with leaky plumbing, rats and mildew.

They call their Landlord and complain.

If the Landlord does nothing the tenants take him to court.

The Court can find the Landord guilty and fine him and order repairs.

A SLUMLORD is a blight to a community.

    Now ask yourself this question:
"What if the Judge is the same person as the Landord?"

There, in a microcosm, we have our Soverign Jehovah.
