I had night terrors and was told to shout Jehovah's name, which I did and it worked (figures really) but it always seemed like using the name as a talisman to me.
Also saying a prayer is suggested too. Prayer is the Christian word for magic.

I hate Ward, but do admit that he is a talented WR who is built like an inside linebacker.
Plays like one too.

The fear of demons is just another ploy to manipulate emotions, I believe that a lot of these so called demon attacks are panic attacks also experienced by people that were never involved in religion and are quite well known to science. Mainstream christianity also believes that demons have a lot of influence over mankind but not to the point of drastically and frightfully taking over a person's mind unless s/he invites them by consciously deciding to get involved in satanism, invoke and associate with the demons. As some people do make contracts with satan signed with their blood to worship and serve him in exchange for power and wealth. The interesting thing is that the Watchtower society did dabble in the occult at least until the death of Rutherford and even printed a whole book with the sayings of a demon as revealed to a woman spirit medium. Only time will show whether they also have a secret contract with the demons running to this day for receiving power and protection from them something not impossible given their openly occultic past practices.
I remember a situation about 5 years ago and was still an elder. I was renting a house to a JW husband and wife. She would always complain that her husband who was emotionally disabled would play video games that he downloaded on his computer and she thought he was bringing the demons into the house. One day I went over to fix the washing machine and there were scriptures plastered all over the place cupboards doors everywhere.
She explained that she was trying to keep the demons away. I'm thinking why would the demons care about a bunch of scripts plastered all over the house.

For the record, these kind of paranoid delusions are not unique to the Watchtower. I feel for the kids who are being raised in places like the Westburo Baptist Church or any highly fundamental and inerrant Bible thumping cults.
I read a chilling story written by a woman recounting her experience as a child while being exorcised by her family and church leaders. YIKES!

Derren Brown helped me dispell any residual fear of Demons. Once I understood how paranormal events could be explained, I put the idea of Satan and Demons into file labelled "Myths and Legends"

He helped with me too.

Yes, Darren Brown was one of a handful of rational human beings that helped to open my eyes, too.

i think if you believe in god, it is only logical to believe in satan.
and if satan exists, then his demons do too.
but if you don't believe in god, he doesn't believe in you either.
the Book of Enoch says that the "wicked spirits" are the remaining earthly spirits of the nephilim(the offspring of angels and women). after the flood killed the nephilims human bodies, their spirit side survived and are trapped on earth till armageddon. it also mentions that whereever disturbances arise around the world, it is the work of these evil spirits.
there is alot of information and interesting details about our invisible adversaries in that book. it is mostly about Enoch repremanding the fallen angels and then being granted a view from an angels perspective and then he wrote it all down for us to read.
but if you don't believe in god, he doesn't believe in you either.
I do believe in God, a lot actually. Yet still no demons. Explain!
