Qualify for "paradise"? This actually leaves anyone that obeys the religion unprepared--and weeds out anyone that is actually suited for paradise.

For instance, what if someone is a master gardener and designer, but a lousy preacher? Does that person need to put in 200 hours a month in field circus and get 500 new disciples? Using that as the gatekeeper would bump off someone that would be able to grow much food and design homes (and clean up the ruins of the earth). Now, the flip side--what if someone is an ace evangelist and a master at using the Washtowel to recruit people, but absolutely useless at anything else? What does this person do when the preaching work ends and the rebuilding work begin? This person would, according to Washtowel doctrine, be prime material for "paradise", having averaged 200+ hours a month and getting thousands of new recruits. But, the same person would be worthless once the focus changes.

I remember them having a modern-day drama and a drama based on a Biblical account. They were usually at the same time.,a modern -day example of the Biblical account they featured.

"Three dramas? They must have finally figured out that dramas are the only thing that keeps people in their seats and paying the dollars. "

    fixed that for you...

There have been "Dramatic Bible Readings" at the last two or three conventions. So, that is nothing new.

There have also been "Modern Dramas" on Saturday at the last two conventions. I was asked to do one of them. They are only 5 minutes long or so. Last years involved a younger couple, and the husband and wife were upset because he was not appointed as an Elder after the most recent Circuit Overseer's visit.

I would assume that this convention is "business-as-usual" comapared to the last two years. They are just trying to do a better job of selling it to the public this time around.

I'm sure this is bound to be a nutty convention, if this invite is any indication. I will be recording the whole program and posting a full report this Summer.

    What Ultimate Reality said:

"This seems to represent a change of Daniel's interpretation. In the Daniel book I recall the feet being the politically divided world in the 'time of the end' and the ankles were the Anglo-American power. Now the feet are the the UK & US... "

This shows how badly out-of-touch with reality the Gov.Bod and the Writing department are... If they had any brains, and awareness of present-day status among nations, they'd single out CHINA as one of the 'heavy hitters', because China's power is quite obviously on the increase.

But maybe they're trying to ignore China, in a way, because there's practically no Jehovah's Witness presence there.

Heck, I think that I could write a better "fulfillment" of Daniel's prophecy than that lame version...

P.S. Of course, you know what the typical JW response would be... "But 'Jehovah' will provide the knowledge for that ace evangelist to BECOME a master gardener and designer!!" Or... "But 'Jehovah' is the MASTER gardener and designer; we'll all just be following his instructions - through the Gov.Bod - er, "faithful and discreet slave class" - er, the "faithful men of old" - er, through the body of elders..."

    Barf...

This is crazy. Everyone knows you do not qualify to live in paradise. You qualify for a prospect to live in paradise!
