I think they say "good riddance" to all the "rational" people who leave. There are many milliions more in third world countries ripe for the pickin'

I saw this over the years, the smart ones leaving, it still did not dawn on me that they had good reason to leave, there was always some story that put the person in a bad light, and left the cult smelling of roses.

They are definately going to be left with only the dross soon, the old faithful ones , some of whom had a bit of education at least, are dying off, and the younger smart ones are waking up.

The WT has a brain-drain, those with a few sparking brain cells are leaving.

I don't think it was ever their design to have the best and brightest, just the most pliable and ignorant. Thinking only needs to be done by a select few; the rest can just shuffle along without putting up much resistance.

I remember when there used to be a lot more leeway when presenting talks from the platform. Now there seems to be increased pressure from Brooklyn to simply stick to the script. It's becoming obvious that the GB is afraid of those few rogue elders who like to "ad lib" a little to stimulate thought (since this might result in "independent thinking")... And because they're losing their "best & brightest", they're also afraid that most the remaining elders are incapable of delivering "the message" without the benefit of a detailed outline in front of them... pretty soon they'll be eliminating talk "outlines" all together and ordering elders to simply read pre-written talks word-for-word...
