SURVEY: Is a JWN members post count a reasonable indicator of their theist/atheist position? If so what can be learned from that?

  I've done no research on this but I suspect that a members belief or absence of belief in god may have some correspondence with the number of posts he or she has made.

  My tentative suggestion is that members with fewer than 500 posts are mostly believers while members with more than 3000 posts are mostly non-believers. Of course there are exceptions, maybe quite a few, but I'm only dealing with generalities here.

  So how about a survey? If you could preface any reply you care to make with one of the following three responses we could build up a profile of the current membership and discuss what, if any, conclusions we might draw from the results. Obviously, the more responses the better . . .

  1. I BELIEVE GOD EXISTS

  2. I'M UNDECIDED ABOUT THE EXISTENCE OF GOD

  3. I CAN'T PROVE IT BUT I STRONGLY SUSPECT GOD DOES NOT EXIST

  3, but I don't meet your posting threshold, probably because I haven't been here long enough. Having a passing familiarity with statistics, I might suggest your correlative metric needs to change to posting frequency. ie. # of posts/# of months. Then you might have something.

  My posing frequency is 1564/8 = 195.5 posts per month. Shelby Anguiano's (a.k.a. AGuest, definitely a 1, who meets your posting threshold but does not support your assumption) is for comparison 55.8.
