Glenn beck is the one that plays six degrees of kevin bacon on a chalk board to show that america is about to become a stalinist/maoist/muslim/atheist/socialist/nazi regime unless we turn to the bible and Atlus shrugged, and claims that it's obvious history if you would just look it up, and make your checks payable to.... He's a kook, the only question is if he's laughing all the way to the bank or crying all the way to the bank. Just like the society.
What DO I think about Glenn Beck?

To perceive any event as meaningful requires a THEORY OF MIND.
There must be some intellegent reason, for the event to transpire. And this is just as true when we preceive meaning in mindless natural events such as hurricanes and wind-chimes as it is when we're reasoning about people's everyday social behaviours. "What's this about?".....cf. "The Belief Instinct: The Psychology of Souls, Destiny, and the Meaning of Life" by Jesse Bering.
the experience of apophenia is manifest in some who's minds have become attuned to the "meaning" or reason behind the manifestation of God in our time and space and they can more easily "see" social and political models within THAT context (in relation to or even at odds with the "meaning" of the incarnation/manifestation or "revelation" of the plan of redemption).
love michelle
p.s. I believe that this same THEORY OF MIND is evident in the NT apostles in that they were able to "see" the Lamb of God and derive "meaning" in the incarnation that was otherwise not perceived by those who weren't conscience of the possibility of the event happening. (precognition utilizing written sources, as opposed to strictly extra-sensory means)

Money money money...does not make a man or woman evil...it is what he or she does with their money ...I say George Soros is a true evil in the way he conducts himself and uses money to manipulate all his little organizations to do his will, not for good but for chaos everywhere in the world.
Beck is a blessed force for good. We know how it ends in the end and God wins over evil.
Pray to God in heaven for Glenn Beck and his safe keeping

RI, you never answered my questions. I was trying to understand your side of the issues. Again you say Soros I say Koch brothers. I'm trying to get behind it all, because if each of us does our part to try and understand the other, that will spread.

You have to educate me on the Koch brothers...not going back to read all the post. I have heard they support the Tea Party...that is a good thing if it so. I like what the Tea Party stands for.

No, I didn't comment on the Koch brothers. I was continuing our conversation. Here is a paste of it:
RI, that is pretty vague and subjective. I did hear a lot about that rape and it was soundly condemned, and I listen to the liberal media. I'm not sure why you didn't hear that.
No honesty and trust in government: can you give me specifics? There is a problem, but I don't see that liberals are more guilty than conservatives. For instance, you pointed out Weiner and I counter with Vitter. Talk about Edwards and I can counter with Ensign. None of us like to see this behavior by either side. I am puzzled as to why you hold liberals responsible though. Can you give me a specific? We can move the conversation forward that way.
Wisconsin--well we do live in a country that allows that kind of protest. It may not be your thing, but maybe the working people feel that the conservatives were acting like thugs. That isn't a statement to make you mad, it's just an observation. There are many views and these people felt like this was their only power. They wanted their voices heard. If you believe demonstrations were out of line, then how do you think they should have made their voices heard? Is there a way you find more acceptable? I'm just trying to figure out how the workers could have protested that the conservatives would not have found it offensive.

Terra Incognita
Terry:
Glenn Beck wants BOTH a reality based model of the universe combined with supernatural belief in the unseen.
When he sticks to reality based thinking he can see what is true and so can we.
When he bases his beliefs, opinions and commentary on supernature it is quicksand.
Of course, "reality based thinking" is a code phrase for Terry's ideology. Basically Terry condemns Gwenn Dreck's religious bunk which while simultaneously praising him on his ideological bunk which Terry just happens to agree with.
That's like condemning a person's religious views while praising him for his belief in Astrology.
