Stupid suggestion from Study Conductor

    roxanesophia . . . well done.

You can see with hindsight now, how the seperating from old friends and family immediately makes you dependent solely on those at the KH. It's a recruitment tactic. The longer you continue in that state, the harder it becomes to do what you've done.

Our true friends will never be perfect . . . but they will still be our friends no matter what. Conditional friendships are not really friendships at all. They are always built on a premise that is more important than you are.

The more time passes, the more you will see what a wise decision you've made.

    Well done to you!

    1. Say "no thank you, I am no longer interested".
    2. Change your phone number.
    3. Get Caller ID and screen your calls.
    4. Block her email address.
    5. Mark mail "return to sender".
    6. Do not answer the door if she comes.

    Problem solved.

No matter how relatively difficult or easy it is for you to do, the only way out is cutting off communication with her.

ETA: Oops--I just saw you did it. Brava.

roxanesophia - I said "I'm getting sick over this stuff and really can't afford to invest any more time in it when my hearts not in it too."

Congradulations roxanesophia - you are the WOMAN! You proved to yourself that you can stand up for yourself, and you did it with class!

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

Once you are in the motel surrounded by JWs I am sure they will MAKE you attend the convention. I have been in the same situation. Don't go if you don't want to attend. Be firm with your 'NO'. Best of luck.

Sorry just read your last post. Well done!

Yeah oftentimes the right thing to do is also the hard thing to do.

If you need extra help, check out this site: http://www.jwfacts.com/

Pick a topic that interests you, read it, and then ask your study conductor about it. She'll get real uncomfortable real quick. If it doesn't drive her away the first time, it will the second. JW's have a super low tolerance for anything that contradicts their teaching.

I just read most of the thread. Great that you told her that you aren't going and don't want to study anymore. If she persists, tell her that you have spent a lot of time on this website. The tires will screech as she leaves your place.

WHEN WE get to the convention site tomorrow....." This may not seem like a big deal.....but psychologically she is already preparing your mind to make the decision to go with her in the morning

This is sooooo true...When I started to question what my study ladies were saying...these sort of statements started to appear hard and fast...I even noticed it from the CO..."When you are talking to people at the door" this one was really getting hammered. Like it is a foregone conclusion.

JWs seem to think Satan is a lot more powerful than Jehovah...

Congratulations on standing up to her! Now live your life the way you want to live it.. do you think God appreciates 7.5 million blind puppets? If I were God I wouldn't appreciate people obeying me just because someone else is telling them what to do.

What's a first aid department without bandages?

Sounds like all it's equipped with is a phone to call EMT's.

WOW! So THAT's why my studies always fizzled and died on the vine right after the first study.

I allowed their no to mean NO.

    I respected them.

I was in awe of their logic, faulty as it may be in a JW's eyes.

Couldn't argue with them at all because they made sense to me.
