  You posted a quote from a 2011 Watchtower, which shows their CURRENT explanation for the fact that they've stopped counting the 'partakers' at the Memorial...

  For nearly the ENTIRE period of time in which they've taught that there's a separate group going to heaven, they have OBSESSIVELY counted the number of partakers, breathlessly reporting the numbers in each Yearbook or wherever the heck they used to report it... Heck, when I was still in during the late '70's and early 80's [VERY early 80's, if I recall correctly...], they considered their annual count of "anointed" as practically coming from the 'mouth of god'...

  The fact that they've suddenly dropped a measurement that was used for nearly 100 years to show how "close" we are to the "time of the end", is VERY significant - and hugely laughable!!!

  That's why I said that another chink has appeared in the Watchtower's armor...

  I wait to see if the number of partakers are mentioned in the new yb. But the w says some who partake are mentally ill? Is this an ad hominen attack on those partaking.?

  Ziddina is right- the number of partakers goes DOWN the closer we get to the end. Did Jehovah then decide to push the end back several years?

  If they don't even bother to count or report the number partaking anymore this is a serious matter. You would think it will bother many publishers - doesn't this mean the end is further away? that and the new generation teaching would be extremly discouraging to those who have been waiting for many years for the new system to come.

  There are many good points being posted here. And I agree that the new GB do not know what they are doing. They must be worried what kind of fallout or reaction may occur once 2014-15 gets here and the end has not come yet.

  The f&ds are appointed by Jesus and have his full authority of kingdom interest over the entire earth. They must be EXTREMLY important to the gb. By not knowing who these ones are and how many there are and saying its not important to know shows how fake the entire f&ds class are and that the gb is a total sham-of course we had discovered this already.

  Would any of this information, if revealed to the publishers, matter to them?

  The accusation that many of the partaking anointed are mentally ill, is attempt to devalue the growing numbers of these people.

  They never mentioned this before the numbers were increasing.

  When mother speaks all devout members listen, and those who don't are eyed carefully, those who question will be put under

  forced scrutiny. I'm speculating that they will stop publishing the numbers on the yearly report but they still might count and keep

  the number quiet at head quarters..

  I don't believe it will make much difference to the rank and file. Patty Hearst believed in the SLA doctrine even after her release. Being a Witness you accept such wild contradictions. Totalitarian religions fall on one element. When measured by the individual's investment in the whole religion, it will always be Brooklyn knows best. Such was my family, anyway. I wonder if they were told by Bethel to sacrifice children, if they would do it.

  I never saw anything fundamentally flawed about Americans, even at the height of my protest period. Charities seemed a godly thing. I had to never reveal that I was a candystriper in a hospital, earning points for a nursing scholarship. IN the end, it was curtains for my nursing career.

  My guess if the reason the anointed numbers are rising is because there are alot of long time JWS that are probably getting up in age

  and have spent many years being a JWS, these ones are mostly the ones who now deem themselves worthy to reach this lofty position.

  Unlike any time in the history of the WTS/JWS, the growing amount of people in the 65 and older bracket is the largest.

  This increasing number is really pissing off the boys at head quarters.

  I wonder if it will seem suspicious to the publishers if the yb stops publishing the number of partakers? If they stop publishing the number then it must still be going up.
