Piecing it together doesn't matter. It matters only for your own satisfaction, for your own guidance, and for your own help at the right time. Sharing your own vision of it is vanity and a striving after the wind. But it will help you to support your side of a discussion. "Always be ready to provide a reason for the hope in you". I think the Bible can't be taught. But you are right! The super duper self righteous "holy" men didn't get much of it right. Are you male? I am female. I have discovered it is women who are more spiritually minded.

I am not going to enter into debate with you, for you don't seem to want that. Good luck with your search for "the truth of the Bible."

But just consider that the Old Testament doesn't "foretell" anything anymore than Roman and Greek mythology and their pantheon of gods foretell anything. Include that in your research with the possibility that the stories do not hide some "truth."

OTWO. Averyone begins the search with; consider that the Old Testament doesn't "foretell" anything, so saying that you are telling people go waste a whole lot of your time (not OTWO's precious time) and go around to the beginning. Well OTWO do you know the way to the beginning? Of course not. The poster already, if the poster is legit, has already considered that and is wondering is there anyone else who is perceiving an unraveling?

    N.drew . . . you nailed that one.

I take it you're not including Eve in that generalisation.

Strymeckirules - I have been doing just that as well, those are great books. I feel there is either a fraud within the bible, or there is a purposeful contradiction to reveal a dark secret.

Onthewayout - As for the old testament not foretelling anything, it foretold that Israel would be scattered throughout the earth, it foretold in the future that they would be brought back as a nation. I find it amazing that almost 2,000 years ago, they were scattered, and did not have their own country, after WW2, they have a country again and being brought back to it. You can find that prediction all over the old testament, I can find exact ones if you want to see.

Then take the whole 1,000 year reign, in Revelation it speaks of Gog of Magog at the end of the 1,000 years surrounding the camp of the holy ones. JW's teach that at the end of 1,000 years, those deceived by satan in general surround the true worshippers.

Well it's interesting that in Ezekiel you can find 2 entire chapters with deep details of this event. Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39. In summary these army's surround Jerusalem, Israel is still not serving God, but to show himself to all the nations, he sends fire from heaven down and devours them. Then the entire world knows who he is, after that event is when Israel begins to serve him again.

But further bible reading and research shows all may not be what we think it to be. In Ez and Rev it's Satan who gathers the nations. In Zech 14:2, it says God does it. Bottom line and the staring place (I've been almost 2 years on this) is learning what the bible actually teaches, then deciding if you feel it's inspired of God or someone/something else. At the very least, learning what it's really teaching, can prove, like the example of Gog of Magog, that JW's aren't teaching what the bible teaches.

So what is the difference between the Bible and Moby Dick?? The Bible is a whale of a tale- and Moby Dick is a tale of a whale.

Woman are more spirtually minded? New one to me, I thought spirituality was open to both male and female to an equal degree. If I was to use the old 'in my experience' then it is men who are more spiritual. But I know my experience is very, very limited and certainly doesn't speak for all.

To me it seems silly to say either men or woman are more spiritual. Each to their own etc.

A revealing point of view sizemik? Revealing that if you believed in spiritual, it would be "good". Eve did something bad, but it was spiritual. What Adam did, was less so because he chose to join his wife (flesh, not spirit).

Hello iCeltic! I have to say the women I know and the men I know, are how I concluded women are more spiritual. Maybe men are hiding it, I don't know. From my observations I have concluded that. But it is open the same to all. And it is NOT mindedness, it's behavior.
