Taking care of cats would drive me to drink !!
LOL !
One must always respect the views of the homeowner.
That said, its much ado about nothing.
But what do you expect from a cat person
It also sounds liek she needs to get laid.
Usually if I open up my home with a purpose (like having someone take care of pets or whatnot), I will make sure to tell them that they are welcome to anything.
For me, if I'm the one taking care of the pets, if I haven't been told that I'm welcome to anything, I don't take anything. If no permission has been given, I don't take it upon myself to assume that I have permission to make something mine...even if I'm intending to replace it. If I see something that I'd like to have, I make a mental note and then go buy it myself.
I guess I'd feel a bit irritated if a neighbor who was watching my pets decided to help themselves to my belongings if I didn't say from the start that they could make themselves at home. I'd certainly confront them about it and ask why they felt they had the right to take my things. This is, of course, assuming that I didn't actually tell them to help themselves.
That's just my opinion... I tend to be kind of anal about certain things. If I have a purpose for something, if it was given to me, etc, I'd be pretty aggrivated if someone took it without asking first.
New Chapter - Yes, silly and stupid
Bella - Too funny. The cats must drive us to become over-indulgers
Psacramento - OMG! - you so nailed it - she so needs to be serviced (I do not think she has many offers)
Morbidzbaby - We are alike - I always tell anyone - take whatever you like - now it just goes without me having to say it.
I see it this way..............
You're doing me a favor to begin with...............
So I get your note.... OK..
A bottle ? and upset?...
No... Thank You! ....Still....
sounds like that person is a DICK!
Mag.....people are funny. You are such an open and nice person you assumed that your view of being a good neighbor extended both ways. Lessoned learned....some people are funny and you can't satisfy them. It's not necessarily wrong to do it. nor is it something to get upset about if someone disagrees.
Think About It
I wouldn't say it's a mortal sin, but I certainly wouldn't do it, and would think it kind of weird if one of my friends did it.
If you were looking after the cats for 3 weeks why didn't you just replace the rum before she got back? Then there would have been no problem and no reason to leave a note . . .
But I agree with those who think that plenty of people would be upset with you doing that.
Although I personally wouldn't be as long as I knew you well. And if I didn't I wouldn't ask you to look after my pets!!
That said I can't understand why you and your best friend have come to blows over this??
You didn't borrow your best friend's rum . . .
And I wouldn't have thought your best friend would have minded!
