Jospeh was pretty smart not to give into the wife's seduction. It's sad that she was regarded as property, but it wouldn't have been a clean death for Joseph if had given in. Think of baseball, think of baseball, think of baseball.
Remember that scene in pulp fiction when Vincent takes the bosses wife home? He has to keep his sexuality in check. The boss treated his wife like property and did bad things to people who got his property even a little dusty.

The Catholic tradition that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute is driven by a culture that hated women. The gospels report a wealthy women, who was close to Jesus. Close in what way is not directly addressed. She was as important as the male disciples. Perhaps more so. Her $ must have carried weight. She was also presumably more educated than the rest.
This answers the question of the whole thread if it's true. They were funded, which makes a load of sense when I think about it. Thanks Band!
