I know you are joking, but since you are just now getting into politics, and politics is almost 100% about deciding how a nation will grow and distribute it's wealth among it's citizens, I just have to geek a little more and point out that America is far from the only place that people recieve welfare, and in fact doesn't give nearly as much to it's poorer citizens as most other western countries.

“When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God."

Ruth and Naomi were poor, and lived off such gleanings.
man.... is that slip of the tongue going to haunt me when I run for president?????
US can't continue on the path they are on.... They give free money and healthcare, rewards, to those that don't work. Oh and disability.... There are real reasons for disability don't get me wrong, but it is abused where I am
I know other countries do, it's just that the US NEEDS to cut back!!!

And the really nice thing about this is that God didn't leave this up to the whims of individual asshole Libertarian's daily mood; it wasn't optional, it was public policy.
It's so nice to see when someone like Burns starts to come around to the side of simply-being-human.
Six, that was a religious law, not a secular one.
Moreover, there was no enforcement from what I can tell.
The principle is a good and moral one that people including libertarians, should live by, but it isn't the government's business to enforce morality.
Being libertarian does not mean to be a greedy asshole.

Unfortunately there will never be a perfect system, that's just reality. I think you are in WV? And a nurse? You probably see some of the worst abuse. But again, it's far more important to take care of people who really need help than it is to deny help simply because some people will always find a way to abuse the system, wouldn't you agree?

lol. Like there is a difference in a theocratic society.
Exactly.

No, I don't think America is some "special kids" country that can't be as good or have as many good things as other countries. We can and should take care of the needy among us, and we should try to compete with other countries in terms of healthcare, education, and an upwardly mobile workforce.
I think you may be under the impression (probably because you see so much abuse) that America's welfare system is how and why we got into such a mess financially? But in the big picture it's not even close to being one of the problems that put us in the financial hole we are in.
