Everything isn't black and white in the world.
Unless you're a JW...then EVERYTHING is black and white - at least as pertains to the butts in the chairs. Every minutia of daily life has a rule about it in one way or another. But those same rules don't apply to the leaders at the top because they can do whatever they want with impunity and make exuses for it afterwards if they're found out. That's why we get a little picky and snippy over the whole NGO thing.

The first seven-headed beast represents the governments/empires of the world but JW's all reside within them don't they?
Oh yes, and JWs use their hospitals, transport systems, welfare provisions etc. . .
Some people don't like certain places or buildings but are required to go there to obtain information or whatever reason
Not liking a location is entirely different from trusting a religion that forbids going to those locations.

Now that is true, for us worldlies. But for JWs, everything is black or white, forbidden or permitted. But this shows a lack of principle (aka hypocrisy) because Brooklyn failed to follow the rules it made for everyone else.

Hello trthskr! I can appreciate the fact that you are standing up for what you believe in. It appears that by coming here though, you may be questioning things having to do with the Organization. Please keep an open mind about things, and you will soon discover the real truth. You will find a wealth of information at this site as well as other X-JW sites. I encourage you to read and research some of the things here. You will find every type of info. imaginable, and you will also find the proof to back things up. I am sorry that there are a select few who are unpleasant to you for trying to share your beliefs, but the majority of us are understanding, and will kindly and maturely debate our beliefs and thoughts with you as long as you afford us the same kindness in return.
There is a "Best of" section on here that discusses some of the best and most important things this site has to offer. There is a LOT of information here about the UN fiasco. Again, as long as you are willing to keep an open mind while reading some of the topics, you will find that there are things that the Watchtower has not been honest and upfront about. If you are looking for something in particular, there is a search function that works fairly well.

I think the problem here is that (if trthskr is to be believed) he/she only has an outsider perspective of JW's based on a love bombing offensive from relatives or friends. Not everyone sees the dark side of this religion - even if they've been immersed in it for decades and I'm speaking from experience here.
But believe me when I tell you trthskr, there are a LOT of very ugly things that have happened and continue to happen in this religion. I truly hope that you can allow yourself to think rationally and read with an open mind some of the real truths here or at jwfacts.com.

When people are as dense as this one, they deserve to be in a cult and the beauty is, they will serve the cult masters until they get old and die off in poverty. I only hope these numbskulls don't have any kids to pass on their stupidity to. This is the next generation witness, totally dumbed down to the point that the reality is totally irrelevant to them - future GB material for sure.

trthskr - I entirely agree. The Watchtower should be associated with the UN. It would do themselves and their followers a world of good in championing their freedom of rights. However, the rules of the Watchtower make their association entirely hypocritical and against the rules. There was no obligation for the Watchtower to join what they have spent years vilifying. If an individual JW were to work for the UN, or paint a church, or join the YMCA, they would be disfellowshipped. It is a black and white world for a JW with rigidity and inflexibility. In this situation the Watchtower leaders are only being judged by the standards that they judge others.

I watched all of it. It seemed to be an accurate portrayal of the Watchtower view of the Beasts of Revelation, and most of the pictures looked like they were from the Revelation book.
I guess I don't get your point in posting it. It shows the UN is headed for destruction, along with all the rest of Satan's worldwide political system. Which raises the question, why would the Watchtower want to have anything to do with the UN? The scriptural rule says,
"Therefore get out from among them and separate yourselves, says Jehovah, and quit touching the unclean thing, and I will take you in...says Jehovah the Almighty." (2 Cor 6:17, 18)
As many have mentioned, this is a case of the Watchtower not only violating Bible guidelines, but the very policies it imposes on others as well.
Can you see what an unscriptural double standard that is?
