Mate i agree with you completely im starting to get sick of the endless same ol same ol.

I have a few threads i enjoy participating in but im starting to feel ready to move on.

Do you know of any more "serious" sites i could try?

With me it's because my life has too much drama and heartache and I'm looking to lighten my mood. My hubby said "there's a reason people don't go to a therapist more than once a week. A person can stand only so much reliving the agony of our serious problems. Sometimes it feels like vomiting the past out. At a certain point you need to stop and talk about something light and fluffy." I agree.

I will add that It's about resting my mind and emotions. A good laugh is theraputic. Also, some have been on the board a long time. They no longer are searching for answers about the Borg. They have already have all the proof they need to be done with it. At this point they are here for amusement, to stay in touch with friends and to help newer ones.

I know that the last few weeks I've deliberately avoided the "serious" topics. I've had a very busy and stressful month so I don't need any more drama or stress. I come here as a chance to have a laugh with friends and just relax. I've been out for over a decade now and I don't have the need to discuss my problems with the Borg. I've read every topic there is to be read on the JWs and I don't need to rehash it all over and over again. If someone has a legitimate question that I can answer I'll give it a try, but for now I am here to enjoy the company of other like-minded people.

After CA day today i just feel tired to the marrow in my body! tired of JW BS! tired of emotional blackmail to come back! i need to just escape

You know i have told 5 elders in the space of 3 weeks that im suicidal thanks to the friggen depression and this disfellowship crap and you know what? they havent even asked how im doin (1 is my brother too).Which im only just hangin in here (pun) , i would od on my anti deps - painless way to go. Thats my last resort of course. I have other options of escape before that tho. Like i said just tired.

3rdgen and BP . . . you've answered smiddy's question I think, although I too have experienced frustration at times . . . even my own "flippant" threads get way more attention than those I feel are important . . . but you nailed the reason why I think. Even in the year or so I've been here, my reasons for hanging around have changed a little . . . but so they should, it means I'm moving, not standing still. It's harder to leave the longer you stay too I think . . . you make friends . . . but looking back, 95% do eventually.

I'm a fellow sufferer . . . though not so much now. I left 8 years ago and the depression hardly bothers me now. You probably know it's cyclic . . . so just hang in there. Sunshine always follows the rain. I know from experience.

Another possibility is that (I'll speak for myself) some are a little mentally lazy. Still another, is that we're not in the mood for an arguement. Heated debates upset me and I don't think either side convinces the other. Some act immature and mean. New ones are not impressed, in fact some might quit reading the useful info here because of the bad behavior. I hope not, but I wonder.
