It could also be both. I have found that we sometimes have conflict over things only because we don't understand the bridge between them. Same as the conflict over whether Christ rose with a physical body or a spiritual body; when really it is both. He rose in a physical body (hence the details about him eating, and his wounds), but He 'shed the flesh' to enter the spiritual realm. That really does take care of that conflict.

It could be the same in this scenario. But in either case... as a result of that union between the sons of god and the daughters of men (spiritual or physical or both), the world became corrupt and the source/result of that union was 'washed away'.

I do 'feel' it (concerning what Nancy shared about spiritual union), but I too will go and ask. I also know that angels can manifest flesh - go in and out of the spiritual realm; like descending and ascending the steps to heaven as Jacob (?) described - so that there could also have been a phyical union.

'Feeling' as in, in spirit. Sometimes our spirit rejoices over something heard and shared, and bears witness to that. Sometimes 'nothing'.

    Peace to you both,

    Tammy

Tammy did you see the convention drama that had the girl proud that she was wanted by the angelic son of god? How would you feel if it was you being described? I knew then that the critic was right on. The critic who says they can't be right by how they view women. And it was a man who said so.

@N. Drew: If you insist on believing God allowed the angels to take bodies and reproduce with the women (Bible says GOOD not pretty or fair) then you do not believe God is ALWAYS good.

well good in what sense? An apple can be good for food and good looking at the same time right? So from the context of the story, how good do you think the women were. Now if they were good in the sense of service and obedience to God, how did they end up marring angels?

Again, we realize that one of the reasons Eve took of the "tree of good/evil" was because it was pleasing to the eyes and therefore was good. It is in that same manner that the angels saw the beauty of the women to be pleasing to the eyes and therefore took them as wives and had sex with them.

Now tell me, if the women were good (in action and not beauty) as you claim, what reason did those angels have to come and take them as wives. Unless perpahs the angels had a problem with those God fearing women.

The other angelic apparitions were all messengers. They were all sent. What other example besides Genesis chapter six did they come in form to do harm?

beautiful, best, better, bountiful, cheerful, at ease, fair word, be in favor,

From towb; good (as an adjective) in the widest sense; used likewise as a noun, both in the masculine and the feminine, the singular and the plural (good, a good or good thing, a good man or woman; the good, goods or good things, good men or women), also as an adverb (well) -- beautiful, best, better, bountiful, cheerful, at ease, X fair (word), (be in) favour, fine, glad, good (deed, -lier, -liest, -ly, -ness, -s), graciously, joyful, kindly, kindness, liketh (best), loving, merry, X most, pleasant, + pleaseth, pleasure, precious, prosperity, ready, sweet, wealth, welfare, (be) well ((-favoured)).

I've never been to a convention, Nancy.

But there probably are women like that though... or we wouldn't have popular romance novels and movies (city of angels) that play on angels wanting women, even to the point of giving up their place in heaven or with God. But there are also women who would NEVER want something like that too.

I think religions tend to emphaize the women who would want that (same as they like to emphasize the Eve eating the apple and tempting her husband into eating it as well... making the woman, as usual, the bad guy, lol)

    Peace,

    Tammy
