cedars you are funny - I'm afraid I don't take you seriously but I doubt that will affect you.

shamus - I question why the state prosecutor has not taken over the case.

soft+gentle - as always, you back off once the going gets tough and the questions get too difficult. Fair enough. Whether you take me seriously or not is of no concern to me, but I know it won't be long before you're trying to discredit me on another thread. Until next time, I suppose.

The state prosecutor may take it after this upcoming court date - later this February. I think that's the plan.

Well I say all things get told with time. ;) Jumping to conclusions one way or the other is counter-productive. It's easy to jump in with your gut feeling and go with it.

Attacking posters for just questioning something is downright silly. There is nothing wrong with the question. Chill out. ;)

I will be interested to read others opinions on what may have happened; some with more legal experience.

Again, on the surface, it would not surprise me at all if a dub or the WTBTS did this. Not in the least

If Steven Unthank hired a lawyer, who would pay the high lawyer fees? The court case isn't going to result in any financial gain for Unthank. It would be very difficult in this financial market to find a lawyer willing to work pro bono in a case against an American religion.

Another thing to think of, Unthank lives in a country town, not a large city with heaps of experienced lawyers. He is also self-employed, and most likely not eligible for govt-assisted legal aid either.

The freezing of Unthanks's accounts is very worrysome indeed. Provided we're getting the whole story from Unthank, it only goes to show how unscrupulous the WTS can be.

shamus100 - I know you absolutely love to always be the one to voice the contrary opinion. You do it to be outrageous and provocative - whatever does it for you I guess. However, you should be aware that soft+gentle tries to discredit the work of people like Unthank for reasons known only to her, and then when the going gets tough she melts into the background. If you think that's commendable behaviour, then fair enough. I'm afraid I don't like it one bit - and I'm not the only one.

    Cedars,

From what I've seen of you I can make some fairly rash decisions myself. You've made a lot of leaps of faith with your comments and, truth be known, I don't give a fuck what you think.
