Outlaw... Exactly correct! I find that their motivation is always this new system. No love among themselves and from my perspective anything in this "system of things" can be used as a temptation so they always hold their cards close to their vest..

Punk, I swear, your wife and my mother were twins separated at birth. My mom spills the same kind of freakish garbage. She can't let anyone tell her she's wrong. She loves Jehovah. She loves the org. The elders protect her.
My post: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/221650/1/My-mother-the-cult-member
I have so much anger right now ... I don't even know what else to say. It disgusts me that there is this much hold over them. And NOTHING we say is getting through. I wish I knew how to break through that shell.

When I was an active member, I totally believed it with all my heart. I believed the WTS was truly being used by the most powerful creative spirit person in the universe.
I even believed that every word and direction from the elders was directly from Jehovah.
I gave up my whole youthful adulthood for the society, this giant publishing company, thinking they really were God's true respresentatives on the earth. I believed it with utter devotion and intensity (gag). Anything spoken against it was seen as though coming directly from Satan.Oh yes, I was a true believer all right. The scales have been progressively falling from my eyes, but it's been a very painful process.

This seems more like she loves the org like an abusive boyfriend or husband.

When I called my partner's mother once, I told her that her daughter and I love her no matter what and we want them in our lives. I was telling her even if she wants to stay in the organization to please not shut out her daughter who would love her parents in her life.
She started shouting at me at the top of her lungs saying "Don't Apostasize me, I love Jehovah and you are NOT going to take my relationship with him away from me." Then she hung up.
Some of them are just so scared of any logic, reasoning, or real love that may be shown to them they don't know how to respond like normal human beings.

I eventually realized that "the organization" didn't love me in return. It is a printing corporation, it can't return love. Loving that corporation has no reward, unless you really value an education in how to sell litteratrash and deceive people.
Loving your children, on the other hand, brings many rewards.

Hi punkofnice, It sounds like your wife has cognitive dissonance. Finish reading Steve Hassan's books for the definition and further explainations. Was your wife on meds before you were DA'ed/started being inactive? If she was than I would strongely suppect that she has cognitive dissonance.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert

Don't know if you have heard that, but in the country I live (Spain), I've heard from different brothers: "Even if all this stuff is false, I will not regret being a Jehovah's Witness". In fact, I heard that from a CO's wife.
That's the idea behind my nickname. JWs are "sons of the Watchtower".
