It certainly wasn't deliberate! She responding to a crisis and dropped her (brand new) Laptop and smashed the screen! Good thing she took out "whatever happens" insurance.

Hi Cedars! Heres what happen Saturday evening......I felt awful, but hubby took me out and I managed to get 15 flyers up (laminated)....on wooden telegraph poles. (this is where funeral/family stuff is stuck up usually, village tradition). The last one I stapled up was approx 15 yards from my house. My anxiety took over, and I only managed to be out for half an hour, but never mind, some is better than none.

Yesterday (Sunday).......we had a little visit! Yes, JWs called for the first time in over 6 monthes.!

Hubby saw the sister point to the sign in our window "No religious callers"...and she knocked anyway! hubby answered and politely told them to leave. I explained the Memorial drive, and he laughed as he said he could see them *swarming* in the street, must have been 20 sisters and about 8 brothers........

I digress......I went to the shop this morning, and ALL OF THE FLYERS HAVE GONE........well, the 10 I posted in the vacinity of my house, down to the shop, at least. Not sure if the other 5 survived, as they are much further down the valley.

Talk about timing. I cant say it was them who removed them all, but it sure seems a coincidence they were out the following day and now the flyers have gone. Usually, other notices/funeral stuff stays up for monthes at a time, until the rain and wind cause them to disintegrate.

I will not be deterred commerade. I have another 30/40 to put up, and will do so when Im feeling up to it. And replace the one next to my house. I just know they know Ive got my sticky fingers all over this...but Im not breaking the law, so they can just trot on as we say in Wales.....

    Best wishes, Paula x

    Hi Paula

Wow, first of all thanks for your efforts! I laughed at the "memorial drive" part, and I'm glad your husband was able to turn away the Witnesses from your door. Based on what you've told me, I'm almost convinced that it was them who took the fliers down, but I guess there's no way of knowing for sure.

I really do admire your enthusiasm, and I'm grateful to you for all that you've done. If you feel you're able to post any more, then by all means do. However, it sounds like it's quite a stressful things for you to go through, so please don't overface yourself. You've already demonstrated remarkable courage, and I do appreciate your support!!

Cedars, I am currently publicising this as much as possible. I've sent the link to a number of my family anf friends for them hopefully to forward, especially since they're all so angry at what was done to me. I'm still far too raw and scarred and paranoid to feel able to put my own name onto it, though.

I haven't forgotten my promise to get back in touch with you personally with some ideas, but I'm recovering my equilibrium bit by bit, and it all takes time.

Too bad that this thread seems to have died. I was hoping that more than 115 people would have signed that petition by today.

I am still writing letters to politicians, the Treasury Department, ACLU, AU, and law schools to educate people about the USA government supporting dangerous cults like the WTBTS with tax exempt status.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

Sorry if anyone has already mentioned this but isn't it interesting that all the trustees appear to be male? I wonder if the charity commissioners are aware of this and have looked into it? I could be wrong but this looks like discrimination to me, isn't that illegal?

Trustees are elder (occasionally MS's), therefore, they can only be male.

That's precisely the point I was making.

To be specific, I wonder how the Charity Commissioners would view an organisation that discriminates between its members based on their gender, allowing females to exercise no positions of leadership in any area (even the RC church makes provision for this) and at the same time delivers no measurable benefit to the community outside its own membership.

ABibleStudent - don't worry, I haven't given up on this! I too am disappointed at the low number of signatures so far, which seems to have flat-lined on 115. However, I have a few other tricks up my sleeve, so I will continue to try to publicize the petition - and I thank you for doing the same yourself.

It ain't over yet, it just means we have some catching up to do!!
