The truth is not everyone that is Muslim is good and not everyone that is Muslim is bad. But those that try to kill others for not accepting their version of truth should be viewed as vile and horrendous.

Woah, sincerely shocked at the generalisation and finger pointing in this thread. Quite distasteful. Every single member of this forum was in a religion that prayed for the end of the world and death of everyone in it. We accepted the bible verses that told us our god condoned the slaughter of whole nations. We said yes to shunning our own family and considering them dead if necessary.

They had world libraries whilst the uk had scavengers living in mud huts and the USA was at its most intelligent. They had trigonometry, astronomy and math cracked thousands of years before abraham had the itch in his pants that became the jewish nation. They worked out the circumfrance of the earth while we were still ignorant to table manners or tables...
Backward? primitive? easily manipulated? they are not!.. While we are bombing countries (backward and primitive) that not one 9/11 terrorist came from, in response to WMD that didn't exist (easily manipulated)... They watch their babies die and we have the gall to ask "why so touchy?"
As For the comment they love killing each other more than their children, not only is this the most disgusting thing I have read on here, it is being said by a person that would have once denied blood even to a child, this is killing too, and you would have been praised for doing it! Most Muslims are very nice and peaceable, very educated and committed to their beliefs. Depending on their origins, their culture is usually old and fascinating.
They happen to be in another false religion, that is all.
Also for the embarassingly ignorrant amongst us.....Muslim is not the religion, Islam is....and Islam and Arabs are two different things. When you say "their culture" you are being quite...... Erm.... Backward and primitive!

If you read the Quran, in the first few chapters it tells them to respect and honour the Jews.

There are sects and subsets with the Islamic religion. One Islamic teacher preaches that 1 percent of the Muslims might be true or "saved". "correctislamfaith.com" According to Islamic Oral Tradition, the Prophet predicted 73 sects would break away from the true faith. Some experts say there are now over 150, (This number is low, there are new groups, with new clerics claiming to have Truth) Mohammed is said to have said, all the sects, except the one true one, would go to Hell. These words create tension and allow the fighting to continue. If the main sects think the other is going to Hell, they have motive to try to conqueor their brothers, to save them?
The USA is in the Wild Middle East, has not learned from Britain's, Russia's mistakes, dealing with this wild card nation. There is a book on the Russian Afghan war, the accounts are graphic, were Taliban members capture Russian soldiers and gang rape them. The Russian soldiers were terrified of getting caught by the Afghani men, it meant certain death.
There is no good excuse for burning a Quran, this puts American armed forces in danger and causes more backlash in the West.

Islam brought to the world, right from the beginning, much genuine learning, scholarship, science, medical knowledge and skills, and the Islamic countries have many greatly civilised, educated and humane people.
Much like any body of Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, or any other religion that isn't bigoted.
I haven't got time now to write more but I am VERY disappointed to find on this board prejudice of this sort.

there is no alqaeda, if there was they should have a bit more damage than 9/11. if drugs can get thru without any worries, then there is no reason tyo believe a few terrorists could get thru.
ladtly dont criticize islamists, they are christians of a few hundred years ago. the jews of jesus time were'probably worse, they wouldnt listen to women, and totally hated everyone else because they were the chosen ones.

This is one reason why all religion is bad. Just because there are adherants to a religion that are peaceful and law abiding does not excuse that faith; the same source material also allows, promotes and excuses utter depraved morality. One suicide bomber suffering mental problems does not condemn any system of thought however, when it becomes a pattern (along with systematic abuse of women, genocidal teachings and a glorification of armed conflict to force your beliefs upon others) then you can see that the core doctrine is at once flawed and carries the seeds of destruction. Christianity is no more excused since its core texts have presided over millenia of death, torture and human slavery. No matter how many 'lovely' people are in a religion it is still proven to be immoral when its texts can be read to support atrocity and abuse.
When will mankind recognise the cancer that is faith. It may be benign and purely waste people's potential by consuming their mental and physical resources in many cases but people will never achieve their highest potential when they owe allegience to a magic idea above their allegiance to the human family.
