How can they believe they are god's channel of communication when they have got it wrong so many times?
does the gb really believe or is this a game ?

If the modern GB are captives of the concept, then they just might believe themselves to be individual components of the composite "Slave". Thus, they worship the "Slave" like everything else. The "Slave", though not a person or group, is a real force, in that it dominates their mental inclinations. They are insulated in their ivory watchtower and probably don't have a real concept of how their decisions effect people.
I do wonder how intellectually savvy they are…they might be closer to a modern day Knorr than a Crazy Freddie, wacky administrators rather than wacky theologians. For instance, do they really understand the arguments about 607 vs 587? Or do they just charge people in the Writing Department to create articles defending 607? I wonder if they even read the articles…or at best, just skimmed them and thought, "Sounds solid to me. Now let me go prepare for my talk at the International."

Which of the new GB would want to become the new 'Ray Franz' in the eyes of seven million people?
Even if one of them were to realize that it's not true, there is no honorable way to leave. As discussed on other threads, at such an age, what can they personally gain by leaving? Who could they benefit by leaving? The faithful core wasn't moved by Ray and they wouldn't be moved by a new defection. Business as usual.
We're the lucky ones. We've escaped.
"Sounds solid to me. Now let me go prepare for my talk at the International."
Indeed.

I think the answer might lie in what would have been. It is possible (the world will never know) that the Society is the instigator of the discourse about God and God's possibilities. (It was for me).
16 Then those who feared the L ORD spoke to one another, and the L ORD gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the L ORD and who esteem His name. 17 “They will be Mine,” says the L ORD of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18 So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
I'll just say that for me I would not know the fear of God had I not known The Jehovah's Witnesses.
That said I think that they don't know how to stop. It is good to know what the Bible says. The World knows that now.
To the Governing Body;
Good job! Now you can come clean.
7 “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Jehovah of hosts. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’
I think we who you think are against you for bad say "how about telling the truth?" It can't hurt worse than lying. I'm sure.
to be continued.....

A real apostate wants you to crash. A Christain wants you to repent. "Though the sins of You prove to be scarlet, they will be made white like snow"
Why do you follow the written word that was transcribed and translated by men? Why not try before "the end" to follow the spirit that is true?
"Come now, and let us reason together," Says Jehovah, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool. Isaiah 1:18

They are certainly aware of the structured power built into this organization and their positional standing as individuals within it.
Their efforts are contained in supporting the organization through self endeavored propaganda which actualizes the self supporting of themselves
as hierarchal leaders. One can say that they believe in the power of the organization mostly over and above the identity
that this organization publicly professes. Being chosen for this position might even accentuate their beliefs in this organization also.
Once a person reaches to the top of this pyramid its a mighty long fall down for anyone to consider removing themselves from it,
considering all the perks and personal stature surrounding this position .
This is most likely why GB members rarely get removed(DF) or resign.
Its always best being on top looking down at the weaker vessels below you.

I think I can honestly say that The Society would rather take their chances of crashing rather than repenting. But there is something wrong with that. That I know of there are two things wrong with that. You would be serving the "god of good luck" to wait and see what will happen. The other thing wrong with it is you will be serving the apostate community that wants you to crash and not the Christian community that prays for you. Are You a part of the Body of Christ or not? Please come clean before the burden of your lies prove too heavy even for Jesus to carry.

There is one other factor here: The GB does not have to "really believe" all the JW doctrine for one simple reason -
They have assumed for themselves the complete power to change it if they want to. Example - the generation of 1914 seeing the end.
Ordinary witnesses who complained loudly enough and long enough about this obvious false prophecy - you will be disfellowshipped for not following the lead of the GB.
For the GB - who equally have seen this obvious false prophecy and obviously cannot believe it any longer - you are free to just come up with a new and ridiculous definition of a "generation" to give it some more time.
What would be a "sin against the holy spirit" for an ordinary thinking JW - is a "manifestation of the new light" for the governing body.
I submit that nobody - NOBODY - could have come up with the "overlapping generations" in a completely sincere manner to cover an obvious false prophecy. They were quite simply gaming the system that they had made for themselves. Honesty would have demanded they admit the prophecy had failed.

Only JWs have the unique religious dogma that gives it's followers the promise from Jehovah that those inside the WT Org will be able to cheat death and go straight into an Earthly paradise to enjoy perfect health and a perfect life forever with other JWs. They live and dream this promise 24-7. The GB only gives to the JWs what they want- continued meat in due season that keeps this a fresh and vibrant hope in their lives. It's much like a pastor who doesn't believe that Jesus is the messiah anymore- he reasons that he is providing the sermons that his members want and are paying for- and he can still retire with his pension.
So, while the GB may be lying at times to the membership, these lies do reinforce the organizational promises- like that little blue Truth book gave them, that got them into the KH in the first place. If they don't like the continued "adjustments" to WT doctrine, or decide the WT dogma is not for them, they are individually free to leave and join a religious assembly who has a message more to their liking. Consequences? Well that is another topic.
Like the one-dogbite rule, you can refuse to to be abused and start a new life.

The GB makes major changes when forced into it, but they require unity at all costs and they can't bring themselves to question the one false concept on which the whole religion is premised -- that the WTS is God's organization, God's sole channel, God's spokesman.
