He came to show us how to have a relationship with God.

That is not mutually exclusive with "starting a religion." Jesus founded the Christian church. Jesus came and started a new arrangement, and left instructions to his followers to carry on the work after he died. He left a leadership of 12 Apostles to do that. He created a religious ritual at the Last Supper, along with an instruction to continue doing it in his memory. Sounds like a religion to me--by any accepted definition of the word.

James, I totally get what you are saying. But I'm not preaching AT anyone. Just giving advice in case they are a Bible believer and would like to hear what the Bible says. That's it. As you can see I hate religion. But I believe in a strong relationship with Jesus and other people that love Him.

Would you mind re-reading that back to yourself and see if you notice two glaring contradictions there?

versus:

Anyway - do go ahead and make a paragraph or two of introduction (minus the religious advice.)
