Oh lordie, unshackled. That brings back a memory or 2. When I was about 15, and my younger brothers about 9 and 11, I thought I'd scare the be-jezus out of them one night. They had gone to bed (they had bunk beds) but naturally were talking, talking talking. We lived by the railroad, so I decided to crawl into their bedroom, but I could only do it when the trains went by, so that my brothers couldn't hear me. Took about 15 minutes. Anyway, I get to the end of the bed and I pull the covers a bit. I hear my youngest brother say "Get lost Tom!" thinking it was his brother doing it. He hears Tommy from above say "What?" I then yanked the covers hard and my youngest brother went flying out of bed and went tearing into the living room where he started yelling "mom, the demons are pulling my covers off!"

I had planned to get up and go in the bathroom, but I was laughing so hard I couldn't move. Mom and my brother come back in the bedroom, mom puts the light on and there is me at the end of the bed laughing my bloody head off.

So, no. No demons in that scenario. But I belive there is the possibility that they do exist.

The Butterfly Effect meets The Matrix, and the white noise could contain infinite alternate realities and our universe or world view could be just one way it manifests itself. wow.

I have an ouija board and can't get it to tell me shit. Do I need to be a highly suggestible 14 year old girl?

I think you have to read the instructions.

But seriously, those predictions were made by spirts (perhaps demons?), and my wife's story is credible. I know this because she told me the predictions when I was 22 before most of them happened. So far every one has been 100% accurate, and a lot of them could not have been influenced by my wife.

Since the mathematics of quantum physics defines at least ten parallel dimensions, I'll give you a double WOW on that; catch ya on the ether man.

    I'm off to work

I don't doubt that crazy, unexplainable shit happens to people. What I doubt are the supernatural explanations assigned to memories of perceptions of crazy, unexplainable shit. There are three weak links there: perceptions, memories of perceptions, and explanations that have no empirical evidence.

Psychology 101 would suggest we question the weakest link in the chain - the mind - when we think we perceive something defying the laws of nature. Perceptions can be distorted and memories can be false, even in sober, mentally sound individuals.

In cases of shared experiences, I highly recommend this account: http://www.hauntmastersclub.com/files/ghost-in-machine.pdf

No, it doesn't prove all crazy experiences are caused by physics. But it's an interesting thought that some of those involved quickly attributed the phenomena to ghosts. (Of course, a standing wave wouldn't apply in bio's case.)

Of course, some critical thinking from one of my favorite YouTube channels....

bio, do you by chance have even a partial transcript of your wife's Ouija board experience? Despite my skepticism, I'd genuinely love to hear more details. Granted, if something hokey really happened, I wouldn't attribute it to demons. But it could certainly fall in the "unexplained phenomena" basket.

How did you know it was really Demons running the Ouija Board, Biometrics?

Demons are not real in the physical or even spiritual world. I spit on the concept. Yet years of my life as a child and teenager were spent scanning rooms for demons and turning on all lights. Under extreme stress, I regress and fear them.

No demon has been confirmed. Mental illness explains most such experiences. Hallucinations can make someone believe they are demonized. Take some anitpsychotics and the "demons" disappear. So much for their power vs. the power of the FDA!

My younger sister, knowing my terror, sneaked into our closet. She stayed without moving a long time. I thought she was watching TV downstairs with my mom. As the baby, she was very indulged. She opened up the closet door and shrieked at me! I jumped so high. The demons were grabbing me. Neighbors could hear my screams. I was beaten very severely for screaming so hard! I hated him with a passion. She was admonished not to do it. My parents thought it was cute. Well, if older sisters did it to younger sister, I'd be dead.

I felt completely vulnerable. The demon belief has plagued me even after I no longer believe. I have a belief that no matter how hard I work, if I want something, it will be stripped and powers will torture me.

It wasn't a cute baby sister joke. She committed terror. I could never do it to her. We spoke recently about the incident. I found out she was as terrified as I was. She pretended to sleep, too, when she was actually scanning for demons. If we had known about the vigilance of the other, we could have combined our efforts and one of us could have slept.

A college friend had to stay with me on the phone for two hours while she was billing legal hours. I became terrified of demons behind my shower curtain. No, I don't believe in them. Their very nonconcrete form and not knowing their appearance makes them potent as a weapon of terror.

If I held a sharp knife to the throat of an elder, that is terror. Even justice in my book.
