I'm sure Mitt can stimulate more support for himself than what McCain did in 2008, now that he's gatherer more public awareness since 2008.

I wonder now who will be his running mate ? Newt ?

Is there any young good looking female Republican governors around these days

I'm all for asking Obama about his own religious associations as well. It's been a taboo subject for some reason. I wonder why?

You have got to be kidding me!

My hope is that after his second term, when he has nothing to lose, he comes out as an atheist. It would make me giggle.

I wonder who Romney will be after he shakes his etch-a-sketch? It should be interesting. I always say that with this guy, I have a 50/50 chance he agrees with me on some of the important things. I mean, at one time anyway, he worked on universal health care, had some respect for women and their reproductive rights, you know, the stuff conservatives hate. On the other hand, I hate for his cult to gain credence because of this, simply because I understand that ex-mormons suffer much the same we ex-jw's do, and I don't like the idea of the vulnerable softening their view and getting sucked in. On the other hand, I don't think his religion will play all that big a role in his policies---he's no Santorum---and don't think it disqualifies him from the office. It just gives me the willies because of where I've been.

I don't know anything about his underwear, nor do I care to. Magic underwear is no more strange to me than believing that wine and bread are transformed into blood and flesh, or that Jesus will come one day and yank believers off the earth in a rapture.

OK, finally. Now it's Newt's turn and we can focus on the job at hand. In a clean election I feel confident that Barry is as good as gone. But with voter fraud and dirty tricks amongst the Dems as rampant as it is...

Glander is so funny. Never a real comment, just lots of random insults. No worries on the voter fraud though---the pubs have made sure that many eligible voters won't be able to vote---so we can hope the 3 fraudulent voters get caught up with the millions disinfranchised legal voters.

They are Band on the Run's points! I don't need any help to see what he would do for birth control and choice--the two most important issues for women. He was bad on health care choice, another issue important to women, particularly when children are involved. Rather than emphasis bread and butter issues, he tried to impose his despicable social beliefs on a nation that has utterly rejected his views in poll after poll.

Perhaps you need to be a woman. Men can stay the hell off my body unless I grant permission. Women want a social safety net more than most women do. We are the primary caretakes of vulnerable children.

When women can get pregnant, give birth to a child, and become the primary caretaker, men would have some say in the manner.

Santorum is a loon. He weakened Romney which was very beneifcial to Obama.

I don't need any outside references. My very soul and awareness of bodily autonomy screams he hates women - and most children. His version of America would be utter cruelty.

Don't bet on it, there is a better chance he would allow for Sharia law to be implemented, and cede US power to the interests of Muslims, Putin, and the U.N. Obama is not for freedom.

Rick Santorum made a huge contribution to the Republican War on Women. It will not be forgotten.

Unfortunately, Mitt's got his own women issues:

The Mormon position on women has changed little since the early 1800's, when the official view was that "woman's primary place is in the home, where she is to rear children and abide by the righteous counsel of her husband" (McConkie 844). This attitude, coupled with the doctrine of polygamy and the absolute power claimed by the men of the church, created a legacy of profound sexism which modern Mormonism has been unable to escape.

Unfortunately, Mitt's got his own women issues:

Mitt Romney has a record of governance he can point to. Everyone knew Romney's religion in Massachusetts, and he won.....

....in Massachussetts, probably the bluest state in the nation. Good luck trying to ride that hobby horse in the general.

Team Obama and its media acolytes have spent the last 6 months trying to change the subject away from the economy. They first turned to class (OWS), then gender (HHS ruling), and most recently, race (Martin/Zimmerman), all in rapid succession with little overlap. Just as one began to run out of gas, they have turned to another divisive issue to rile people up and turn attention away from the bad economy.

The main issue is still going to be the economy, and Obama doesn't want to run on his record. I wouldn't want to, either.

On the gender front, Romney already owns the male vote. But hundreds of thousands of women, if not millions, don't have jobs today that did 4 years ago. It has been even worse for men. But lots of women have unemployed husbands. You guys can wave a flag and shout the ficticious "war on women" all you want, but it isn't going to wash in November with these people. Polls show the electorate trusts Romney more than Obama on this issue, and it is the most important issue on the plate. If Romney continues to run a careful campaign and makes no big mistakes, and continues to present himself as the competent managerial candidate that he is, he will win in November.
