Mine did, that is attempt to stay in touch. There was a 3 year gap when I left my family behind. They displayed concern at my new found religion, but for the most part kept any comments on the down low. Now u should have heard some of the comments dubs had about my "worldly family".

    Ditto, wha happened?

Fortunately, I woke up in time to prevent too much damage.

This reminded me of a washtowel a few months ago that really irked me. What a bunch of a$$holes these guys are. Talk about mind control and taking individuality out of the equation. The guy was dressed just fine to begin with. If they represent what God really wants (not saying they do) then God must hate us.

    Free - and dressed cool:

    before

Brainwashed - now dressed like grandpa:

    after

I just love how wash-towel writers are so arrogant that they completely ignore the fact that there are two sides to every story; you know 'cause no one is gonna see it from another point of view or apply it to them.

However, many today have had to endure extreme rejection by their family.

This is very similar to a remark made a few years ago.

    (Awake 7-2009 p29)
“No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.”

While Watchtower makes remarks suggesting that it does not support rejecting family members, or cause family members to choose between religion and family relationships, the truth is it's a strong proponent both.

If they are just messing with the R&F now, I predict there will soon be an article ridiculing other religions about being a UN NGO.

If they actually are serious, I can't wait to see the crazy after they move to the compound.

The first paragraph fails at two points I'm always prepared to argue. And please understand that I say these with enough sarcasm that the listener get the point that I'm mocking their ignorance...

    1) The good old days, eh? Like when women and non-whites knew their place? All these "civil rights" have really broken down the perfect world that us white men built. Oh, for the good old days when the white men had it all and everyone else was kept on a short rope! Now that was a time when the world was "secure" and we didn't need a bunch of laws and courts, because women and minorities were just treated like property, like a mule or an acre of ground.

    2) It's so true that people didn't need locks a hundred years ago. Many didn't need locks around 50 years ago. But most of us need locks today. Why? Because we have stuff that's actually worth stealing! What were people going to steal from your house 100 years ago? TVs, radios, your computer? 100 years ago, nobody had any sh!t worth stealing! Even about 50 years ago, most people didn't have the kinds of valuables we have today. Now, we've got Dick Tracy technology in our pants pocket. Of course it's going to be tempting to steal.

I am hoping statements like this make my wife and her family think. They would be hard-pressed to come up with any examples of people coming into the congregation who have to "endure extreme rejection by their family". But, now they have a member of their own family that they are treating with "extreme rejection" for leaving the congregation.
