Sab: Would you have stood up for the sorcerers right to live if you lived back then?
No, because i would likely belong to a dumbass retard religion which had convinced me that ol' Mashebeth should be stoned to death since Josephs cow died.
I cant wait to hear where this profound insight on what i would have done 3000 years ago will lead you!
You'd likely pick up a pitch fork and join the mob just to make sure no one knows the truth about your secret morals. Hind sight is 20/20, a perfect world only exists off the vindicated deaths of the innocent. Can you give me an example of when science was invented in a world where sorcerer's were not brualized at some point?
I can give you an even better example. In the western world we have discovered there is no such thing as witches so we do not burn witches anymore. Scientific scrutiny and the demand for evidence had a large role to play in that if you read the witch trials.
Now we DO actually have places in africa where young girls are regularily branded as witches and killed all in the name of Jesus and no doubt using exodus as the textbook; Would it be a crime, evil and a hinderence of progress to explain to these people how wrong those ideas are? to use logic and evidence to demonstrate the wrongness of their ideas?
Because it sure is hard to pick up the bible (and whatever tribal crap they have mixed into their religion) and demonstrate satan cant posess people and there is no such thing as witchcraft, but it is an entirely trivial thing to do with the scientific method.
