I think they will spin out this appeal as long as it takes, including the SCOTUS.

Two previous cases come to mind:-

Olyn Moyle - this dragged on for years and they still lost.

Douglas Walsh - this went to appeal and then to the House of Lords and they lost that.

How many JW's have you ever met that heard of those cases and how many care?

How are you Outlaw? Long time no see. This is definitely good news (for everyone except the WT). The fallout remains to be seen, but it quite full of anticipation.

Remember that they fully believe the shit they are shovelling so in their heads Jehovah WILL fix this. Afterall, he overturned Rutherford et al's conviction in 1919, right?

I don't think they will drop the appeal. It has to be fought out to the bitter end. The doubt in peoples minds is already set and matters must be ...set straight. In the mean time, I hope they will work to modify how they deal with accusations from children of being abused, that everyone gets more education on this and some solutions will start to come into place. This will not bring the WT down. It will not make people stop believing in Jehovah, it will not make huge droves quit being Witnesses to where the money dries up. There are much bigger battles that will need to be fought on down the road.
