I mean, "YES! I'M GOING!"
LOL. Maybe I'll take off my shirt and walk around backward...
Tal - the best thing to do to start with Dave Carrol is to go to youtube and watch his "united breaks guitares" video (true story...HIS story). It's awesome. But his band is really amazing. They are called the Sons of Maxwell. They often do songs with NS themes. For an NS-themed song, watch this video.
Glad you figured out my screen name, tal. I'm bilingual.
I like that PFLAG saying OM.

I'm seriously laughing. Billy - you always crack me up. You're quite the comedian. I like how you continue with a theme -- just like the stand up comics do. Have you ever done stand up?
It would be great to have a world wide apostafest someday. I could see Billy performing stand up. Imagine the great exJW routine he would come up with.
I think I would fit in better with friends at a cabin in Nova Scotia than I would a gay pride parade. Still, though, I'm totally with the gay pride parades in politically if not in spirit. LOL.
@ talesin: I love your line and I have a "gay" answer for it. I saw it on a guy's T-Shirt he was wearing on National Coming Out Day in Boulder, Colorado. The message on his shirt was: "Let's get one thing straight...I'm not!" That shirt got a lot of laughs and high-fives.
By the way, it's wonderful to see how many positive responses this thread has generated in such a short time. Thanks, open mind, for starting it, and thanks to all of you who have shared.

I just noticed this.

Well, if you had said "Sons of Maxwell" at the start,,,,
Yes, I have met him! (though he may not remember me) We booked the above group for Atlantic Earth Festival, back in the day, when I was working with the fest as an organizer and EmCee!
Brilliant! And I will watch those vids,, thanks.
EDIT: I understand - it's quite "eastern Canadian" here, and you would fit right in at the parade - lots of diversity, and no one is made to feel uncomfortable --- there are more straights and families lining the sidewalks, and it's a true celebration that defines Halifax as a city that welcomes all!

Quendi --- I love it! Am tempted to have a shirt that says that, just for the fun of it... but, nope too many guys already hitting on me, without encouraging the gurls as well. LOL!

Para, our three sons and I marched in our local pride parade a couple of weekends ago. We volunteer with a local animal sanctuary and they asked us to march with them.
Lots of fun!
