Ah, "the stand." TM Been hearing those words a lot lately. So sad because it is just a form of control over the devoted...nothing good will ever come from this pain suffered by those involved.
I hate it too Donny. You are not alone.

I am SO sorry to read this story and I feel badly for you. It would just wrench my heart if my flesh and blood told me they can't bother with me anymore because of the religion! In many cases though, this emotional blackmail may work to get the straying relative back in the clutches of the religion if for no other reason than to be with their loved ones. The religion doesn't care. It just wants warm bodies sitting in the seats and by compelling people in the religion to confront their relatives who are "out" they might get back some of their lost numbers.
I am grateful I have no family in this religion. However, I have a few friends there and I must say their "love" and association is shrinking. I am sure the religion is putting pressure on anybody there to take a "stand" with people they know who have left.
Even though I would miss these friends, I will wave bye-bye and move on because I am glad to be rid of the religion.

" I hear exactly the same at my home Church, at Lakewood, at Second Baptist, Christian TV, but we are not called to shun anyone but to shine among them so they may see the light JESUS through us ...we are not asked to stop living and go SELL magazines to be saved but to trust in JESUS as our only way of salvation, to read the scriptures, NOT obedience to A CORPORATION ...
