You may be right!....but then one or some of these gods might be real....
How about Isis? In ancient egyptian religious belief she is worshiped as the ideal wife and mother, and is the patron of Nature and magic.
A friend of slaves and sinners, and the downtrodden, but she also listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens and rulers. Something for everyone here....
She was the daughter of Geb (I think he resides in Christchurch NZ because Gebs laughter are earthquakes), Geb is also associated with the underworld. Nut, her mother the sky goddess is considered an enigma in the world of mythology which usually depicts Earth mother and sky father. But she is one of the oldest deities among the Egyptian pantheon with her origin being found in the creation story of Heliopolis.

Can I ask why what sort of proof do you what that God and His Son exist?
It just seems to me that you are all so bothered about whether God exist's and getting all thiests to believe in what you do. I am a big believer in evolution and I wish I could understand science more, but alas I float about far to much to understand anything deep ;P
Why can't everyone believe what they want and be left alone. I agree debate is good but all the sqwaking is just not good for the soul.

Direct and incontrovertible proof will cut it for me. Provided i'm passed as sane and rational by experts and not under the influence of drugs then I'd say that would do it. Witnesses to the event would be a huge bonus for credibility sake as personally I wouldnt trust myself, after all it could just have been a very vivid dream instead eh.... such is the POWER of the human mind.
I am NOT going to take 3rd 4th 5th or 1000th hand embellished accounts of the divine and supernatural as evidence ever again! Why should I? Why should you? Something as important ought to be based on some real concrete evidence surely, not on fairytales and myth.
This needs it's own thread as we may well be off topic by now.

Proof - The evidence or argument that compels the mind to accept an assertion as true.
For example, i accept Thor because i see lightning and hearthunder. Offer something similar for christ and ill accept him too
