I have benefitted far more from the work done by Janh and Kent than Ray Franz.

Ray might show the hypocrisy...Kent and Janh show people how to THINK!!!

I do not think Ray Franz is the FDS. I quoted that scripture because it stated a principle. Many have died, many are dying. They read Crisis of Conscience then are told they can make it on their own! Hogwash!! Sure some JWs can but many more die from a lack of "water"!

Ray Franz has group meetings with others to study the Bible. Tell me, if he were just Br. Nobody would he still be able to gather a group of xJWs around himself? He is famous. Most of us are under the woodwork!

Wouldn't it be great if all those famous xJWs featured on the Beacon site would just come around here once in a while and share their insight and experiences with us! Why don't they?

It would be "nice" it they came around, but it is not necessary for your recovery. There are plenty of people who come here to give you support. From the xJW unkown's like myself, to Randy Watters and Bill Bowen who have made major contributions.

Look at all the work that Amazing, AlanF, Farkel and others have put into this board. Why do think this place is lacking in resources?

I know of a few xjws that regularly have Bible Studies at their home or the home of others. A few of these exjws have written books. None of them have ever posted here. As a matter of fact, one of them does not know the first thing about the computer. Basically they are Br. Nobody. Most on this forum probably have not heard about them. How can they get others to gather together for fellowship? Are they famous? Is Ray really famous? How many people besides many exjws and some active JWs actually know about Ray Franz?

Do you know who Chuck Sackett is? Is he famous?

Dramatic, but demonstrably untrue in the context of spiritual guru's, saviors, messiahs, etc.

None of the above are even a basic requirement for a happy life.

Trashing the Watchtower? Well actually the books 'Crisis of Conscience' and 'In Search Of Christian Freedom' did that pretty well, I mean how much value did we see in the Watchtower after reading these books compared to before,instead of seeing the Watchtower as important information from God we just see it as the speculations and manipulations of men taking themselves too seriously,in other words,TRASH.
One thing about it though is the way in which the information is conveyed in the first place,in other words,'It aint what you do its the way that you do it'.I mean from the very introduction of Ray Franz books he seems to know the importance of conveying the info in a way that a JW mindset is least likley to just switch off,which is so important if you want to get the message through to deeply indocrinated messed up individuals,prehaps he would be more willing to give permission for his material to be used on sites that used the same gentle approach throughout,I mean that there is absolutely nothing wrong ind its completely comendable for an internet site that makes facts about the Watchtower available,but most of the peaple who linger would either be ex JWs or people on the way out anyway or people who have never been JWs or mayby in the very early stages of contact,which is good because after visiting these sites they probrably never will be so you have hit the JW recruitment,on the other hand those who are nervouse JWs who for one reason or other have taken the big step to start cheching the other side out could imediately,be scared right off if the info isnt presented in the gentler approach of the likes of Ray Franz,who did not right his books in the way he did by accident,he knew the mindsets he was dealing with for sure.
