The people at Topix and Paradise Cafe had better insults.
Oh wow, I'm so hurt our insults aren't good enough for you. And you say this after asking not to be insulted. Confused confused confused you are.
Why do you all have to be such pedants?
noun \ ' pe-d ? nt\
1 obsolete: a male schoolteacher 2 a: one who makes a show of knowledge b: one who is unimaginative or who unduly emphasizes minutiae in the presentation or use of knowledge c: a formalist or precisionist in teaching .......................................................................... Knowledgeable people annoy you?.. Are Facts getting in the way of Your Fantasys?..
If I say..."the faithful and discreet slave was appointed in late 33 C.E."
You could also say.. You keep invisible monkeys in your pants. It`s up to you to prove it.. Don`t forget to wash Rehtoric before you put it back.. There`s nothing worse than a Dirty Rehtoric.. It shouldn`t have any Dents or Scratches either..

Ahhh, it seems to believe it can think and wants a debate, but obviously doesn't understand the rudimentaries AKA pedantics. Pianists study the pedantics of fingering, because as the old saying goes, you have to learn to crawl before you walk or run.
Debates devoid of guidelines and an understanding of the basic rules and guidelines are properly labelled as arguing, engaging in verbal "no holds barred" bar brawls.
Rudimentary, apparently you are unfamiliar with Leolaia, an educated biblical scholar who has forgotten more about scriptures than even the smartest JW theologian knows. By dismissing and trivializing her (and others) valid comment, you have lost the race before you even crawled out of the gate....
Sab, I say you handle this one; you actually impressed me with some of the comments you made in the other thread, showing that you've been putting some thought into this stuff....
@ Recovery,
Yes, I tried to appeal to your emotions, your heart. I did that for a very simple reason. The scriptures are written in such a way as to reveal your heart condition. Any religion can twist any scripture or use snippets, or take them completely out of context. A person can also read them with no bias and learn practical and valuable truths such as The Golden Rule. No one on this site despite their background, would argue against the world being a better place if the golden rule was followed by everyone. It would literally change the world as we know it. Here is a true story, a first hand account from me. An Elder who gave the " Special Talk " made a revealing comment during the subsequent WT Study. He said that, " as servants of Jehovah we need to be balanced ", sounds good so far.. He then said , " Sometimes we get tired and wore down and we feel that we need rest, well remember what Christ told Peter at Matthew 16:22,23! Peter told Jesus to be kind to himself and Jesus said, " Get behind me Satan! " Well, sometimes we think we need rest and time to recover, but is that balanced?". This from the Elder chosen to give the " Special Talk ", I feel sorry for a family that must live under that roof. That account was taken totally out of context to support his personal view. That was not the Fine Shepherds message at all, and Christ would never treat the flock in that manner and YOU know it. Don't make the mistake of not getting the import of Christ's words to the Pharisees at John 5:39,40, prayerfully consider them.
I just tried to touch your heart with principles that cannot be taken out of context.

Thanks KS for noticing, I have been. I would, but he stopped responding to me after he said this:
To sebastious...Debate about the scripture/what I've presented or I won't be engaging in any further discussion with you as it's obvious you and your apostabuddies dont have a real case against JW's. - Recovery
Like he's doing in this thread, he makes up rules and when you break them he calls the foul (like you can't post "apostate" videos since they are "all the same" etc). He wants to be the pitcher, batter, catcher and umpire it would seem. The perfect recipe for a batch of intoxicating confirmation bias.

If you want to insult me, show me where I am wrong scripturally.
Deut. 18:21, 22: "How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?" when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it. You must not get frightened at him."
May 15, 1984 Watchtower, pages 6-7:
"But fulfillment of all the foretold events affecting the generation of 1914 does not depend on comparatively slow human action. Jehovah’s prophetic word through Christ Jesus is: “This generation [of 1914] will by no means pass away until all things occur.” (Luke 21:32) And Jehovah, who is the source of inspired and unfailing prophecy, will bring about the fulfillment of his Son’s words in a relatively short time. —Isaiah 46:9, 10; 55:10, 11"
Did it happen as it was spoken, in the name of Jehovah? Did it occur? No. Then it was not from God. The people who wrote it received no information from God, as is demonstrated by the fact that IT DID NOT HAPPEN. Scripturally speaking, this proves in one example that the "food" given by the publishers of this magazine was not "food at the proper time", as it was false information presented as if from God.
I'm not sure what level of proof you require, but it definitely talks like a duck here. At a certain point, it becomes clear that no amount of proof can convince you of anything. Which brings us back again to the question. Why are you here? If you do not believe what has been repeatedly explained, and you don't respect the "faithful slave" class enough to obey its direction regarding communication with apostates, you are basically in a spiritually isolated condition yourself, not loyal enough to the organization you are defending to simply go your own way and flee from 'bad association', and not interested in the opposite side of the spectrum either.
Bottom line, make up your mind about what you want. You're really only wasting your own time here, if this is all you're going to do. Most of the regular posters here are going to post stuff anyway. Either way, take care of yourself, and keep learning. I don't say that to be pedantic; I say that as a man who believes in freedom of thought and appreciates the value of learning as much as we can about ourselves and others. Keep reading, and keep learning.
