    The truth?
How do you know its the truth, I was raised to believe it was the "truth" too, but its still a few people getting many to feel its the "truth" truth does not change, the Witness's truth does, gravity does not change air is air, water is wet, truth is constant not a fluctuation! Tin Man

to me many here just exchange one lie for another. Many claim that you would find greater love here than in the WTB&TS, but they are just as much backbiters as the people they condemn for doing the same things.<<<
Your mind has been successfully programed to think like this, tell me how does the WTB&TS show love to me you or anyone else, those people in NY don't you from a goat turd in a yard full of ivy. Tin Man

Quoting Tinman"to me many here just exchange one lie for another. Many claim that you would find greater love here than in the WTB&TS, but they are just as much backbiters as the people they condemn for doing the same things"

What are you trying to say?

Can we leave the WTB&TS out of this and stop comparing? Regardless of what THEY do, I have been on these boreds long enough to see what the people HERE are capable of.

People here can tear a person to pieces.

They point the finger at the WTB&TS and say it is full of lies. What about this place? People here believe in Christmas. Is that a truth or is it a lie?

I can go on but why should I? I've gone over it enough times in other threads.

    TheWiz,

People here believe in Christmas? Wow! You mean you don't believe it exists? :) I think what you meant is that some people here celebrate christmas. But you don't have to believe that Christmas has much to do with Jesus to celebrate it anymore - it's just a cultural tradition. It's pretty secular, actually. I'm not sure what is so wrong with spending a special day with your family. Do you really think that most people who celebrate Christmas actually think they are celebrating Jesus' real birthday?

That being said, I have never celebrated it myself, but I wouldn't look down on someone because they chose to do so. Who knows, maybe I'll celebrate it someday - and I'm an atheist!

    Mr. Wiz,

I don't believe in Christmas. I don't celebrate Christmas. I celebrate a beautiful experience with my three grown children, the in-laws, and two grandchildren. We have a decorated tree, nice gifts all around and a nice meal together. After dinner, the adults sip wine and share stories and memories. The kids play with their new toys and make lots of noise.

The truth is, people need time together to celebrate each other, their heritage, and their love. This is truth, not a lie.

    hi thewiz,

The fact that you keep bringing up celebrating Christmas in many of you replys to others brings me to state my opinion of what is important. Christmas is about remembering Christ's birth. As a JW, a big to-do was made about the Bible stating to remember Christ's death, not his birth. (Although the Bible says nothing about not celebrating Christ death, it was supposedely started by pagans. right along with wearing wedding bands, men sporting ties, and many other practices. Why is it that celebrating in rememberence of God giving his own son's life up by his son being "crucified" ( please look that word up, because that is a whole other subject that I really want to bring up on the board some day ) made to be so evil, while JW men will turn around and wear ties (forced to or be counseled by the JW clergymen, once they've dedicated their lives to JWism), and both JW males and females will wear wedding bands? It just seems to me that it's NOT ok to remember the gospels of Christ's birth, life, and death, and what it all means to us, but it's ok with the "society" to force followers to practice other "pagan" practices. what are your views on that? Why does people celebrating the rememberence of the one and only savior mentioned in God's word, the Bible bother you? More importantly that I would appreciate you viewpoint on is .... How is Christmas a lie? Whast lie are you speaking about? Is it the "day" people chose to set aside some time to reflect on the birth of the savior? Is that what you are upset about? Or is it that people have freedom to celebrate the rememberence without being view as a person of the devil? plese help me to understand why if it's something to do wioth Jesus, it's evil. But other pagan practices that have nothing to do with the blood Christ shed, it not evil at all.

    peace to you,
    somebody

edited to apologize for typos. I don't have time to correct them all right now. sorry
