Why, though, does the Society construct new buildings when the world is in such an uncertain state? Brother Barry explained that Jehovah’s organization expects to survive these troubled times. God’s people are getting equipped and organized to give the greatest witness possible in these final years before Armageddon brings an end to this system of things. And they hope that many of their new facilities will be used in the great post-Armageddon reorganization work.

--Well, I guess God decided that some of these new facilities just won't be used in the "great post-Armageddon reorganization work".

And what was the explanation for all the building at Warwick?

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/225805/1/GB-We-dont-know-if-Jehovah-wants-us-to-build-new-headquarters-but-were-doing-it-anyway

    8/15/2012 WT

"There are plans to develop a 248-acre (100 ha) property at Warwick. 'Although we are not yet certain of Jehovah’s will regarding Warwick,' said Brother Pierce, 'we are proceeding to develop the site with the intention of relocating the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses there.' Plans are also being made to use a 50-acre (20 ha) parcel of land situated six miles (10 km) north of Warwick to facilitate the staging of machinery and building material. 'Once construction is permitted, we hope to complete the entire project within four years,' said Brother Pierce. 'Then our property in Brooklyn can be sold.'"

“'Has the Governing Body changed its mind about the closeness of the great tribulation?' asked Brother Pierce. 'Not at all,' he answered. 'If the great tribulation interrupts our plans, that will be wonderful, absolutely wonderful!'”

Cedars or anyone in the know,

    Iam just curious,

    1) By closing down some branches, how did the human barriers were broken down?

2)How were human barriers created by Watchtower's construction of branches in the first place?

    3) In what ways did the Watctower either knowingly or unknowingly ignored national barriers when consolidating [closing down] branches?

Branch Dedications: ‘God Made Them Grow’
A healthy child all too soon outgrows his clothes, sending parents on a quest to obtain larger-size apparel. In a similar way, as the number of publishers increases in a country, those charged with oversight seek larger headquarters to meet the demands of a growing force of Kingdom preachers.
A Branch Committee looks upon this as a happy challenge. It is evidence that God is blessing their branch with growth. (1 Cor. 3:6) Last service year, four branches dedicated new facilities exclusively to Jehovah’s service.

Scott77 - I think they're trying to claim that a branch-per-country model of allocating branch offices is observing human boundaries (by building branches within national borders) rather than viewing the globe in its entirety and building branches equidistant from one another or as the population dictates. For example, Russia is a huge country that covers the length of Asia, but the Russian branch office is tucked away in St Petersburg on the Baltic coast far to the East. By the Society's newfound logic, there should be equidistant branches stretching across Russia into Siberia, but this is clearly not the case. As slimboyfat points out, if human boundaries are now irrelevant then there should be at least one country with more than one branch office, but this isn't so.

Whichever way you spin it - the Society is in steady retreat. The fact that they have employed such ludicrous logic to try to cover this up ruins their credibility still further.

    I hope that explains things.

Great work in finding those quotes everyone. I knew there had to be something out there. These guys can't keep track of their own crap.

I checked my notebook from the convention, and in the last talk the speaker said that the recent merges were Jehovah breaking down national boundaries in preparation for the end.

They change their minds more than they change their undies.......

Many thanks for clarifications. Please, what do you think about Watchtower branches in developing countries? Are they sustainable? With looming lawsuites in the wake of Corti Cadance's victory and the fact that the society is actively attacking higher education that would have aided its members to become economically wealthy, is aggressively collecting donations from its poor members and at the sametime, is constructing a new large headquarter in New York in the midst of dwedling donations, is there is sensibilities or wisdom still left behind with this cult? What does this implies about its leaders's thinking?
