Thanks for th article CEDARS
Gosh, I hope that "perfect storm" statement is true!
Thank you for the great article and info Cedars!
I feel the WTS think they will wear Conti down, between court $$$ court costs, emotions, etc. I'm so very happy to know the Conti's are positive and moving forward, getting the support they need with top notch attys.
I'm hoping with the current storm of child abuse cases in the media (Sandusky, etc) the WTS will slam right into a wall of defeat.
Thanx again...
Fantastic article Cedars... to be a fly on the wall at bethel! Wooo-hoooo! Justice makes me happy.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments!
I can now say definitively that the Watchtower HAS appealed. They filed papers yesterday (the 20th).
I will be rewording some of the sentences to reflect this in due course.

I've updated the article with a link to the Notice of Appeal.

I have added it to FB

09/20/12 | Notice of Appeal Filed by Fremont California Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, North Unt |
So I see this listed on the Court cite now (no images yet there),,but not showing an Appeal Filed by WTS of NY yet,, maybe will follow shortly.
Thanks Gayle
However, unless I'm missing something, the Notice of Appeal that I posted on my blog article also mentions the Watch Tower Society.

Thanks Cedars, I don't know how things go in the U.S Courts, but here in the U.K if you appeal there is achance that the damages award could be increased, the Court is being asked to consider the case again, as to damages and costs etc, perhaps with new evidence or new repersentations as to damages etc and does have the freedom to increase damages or sentences say, in the case of a criminal conviction.
I hope that happens in this case, the WT loses the appeal and damges are increased, that will have an effect on many a JW.
The sad irony of this situation is that win or lose, the WT is using funds donated by those victims of its terrible record on abuse to fight the case !
Thanks Phizzy, you make an excellent point. However, I actually think a potential increase in damages will be the least of Watchtower's concerns if they lose the appeal!
You're also right to note the irony that donations for the worldwide work are being used. True, the Watchtower legal team may likely be working "on the cheap" - but when it comes to hiring lawyers, "you get what you pay for"!
