If it's true that there have been 135 murders so far this year, then that is still below the historical rate. For many, many years, the homicide rate in Baltimore was over 300 annually.
Why are people burning their city to the ground in Baltimore? How doe Looting and Mob Violence Help?

Well the rate was low up-to last month when it exploded. The rate of murder is high even if the absolute number may have been larger in years gone by (the year isn't over yet). Those years were hardly a good standard to measure things by!
The largest city in the country, New York, has seen 30 homicides for the month as of May 28, and at 8.5 million, its population is nearly 14 times that of Baltimore.
Pretty shocking.

True, Simon, the rate is high, especially considering that Baltimore has lost population in that time period. It used to have about twice the number of people. -

Wow, these guys kidnapped a federal agent yet the one who was caught didn't resist arrest and is alive and one turned themself in. Good thing because even though they have huge records including previous charges for attempted murder, their lives really do matter to everybody and if they resisted arrest then either the police should lay down their life in sacrifice for these gentleman or else Florida would be burning down in riots! http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/08/16/four-florida-teens-accused-in-carjacking-kidnapping-federal-agent/ So thank these guys for not resisting arrest because their lives would matter if a white officer killed them, but the lives they have taken obviously don't matter.
