I mean, try to tell, say, a mother... or a twin... that the "feeling" they had when something occurred with their baby/child or twin was just "a figment of [their]
imagination." Such ones don't need you... or Dr. Tyson... to agree with them.
Those are called emotions.... not senses.
But that's a great interview you posted. I haven't seen it before!

who was the one who respectfully called someone "silly"?...
One should consider re-reading the interchange. If so, one would see where the silliness started and perhaps come to the right conclusion: that the term "silly" was not only respectful... but appropo. Now, had one taken issue with being called a rabbit... my comment might include an apology.
If a person was closed up in a dark room with a black cat, and the cat made noises, or brushed up against the person, even if they had not known the cat was in there, even if they had not known to look for the cat, they would find the cat.
If time had been taken to read some of the comments, one might conclude that that would depend on whether the person HEARD the cat's noises. I above the others noises, including one's own [loud] voice. Even so, there's nothing to indicate the room is EMPTY of everything except one and a cat. Just says it's dark.
If the cat is really there, anyone would find it, regardless of belief, 'spirituality', philosophy or method.
Actually, given some folks I know... I'm not so sure. I am sure a few would probably trip over it at some point, or step on its tail. Or step on its tail and cause it to screech... and so, now perhaps realize there IS a cat in the room. Doesn't mean would find it, though, does it? I mean, they sent to be pretty slippery little buggers and able to get quickly out of the way. Especially if they "sense" they might purposefully kicked... or somehow otherwise abused by the one claiming to be seeking them.
The cat is there and the evidence is available for all to see.
Yeah, it is. But getting all to "see" the evidence is the Rubik's Cube, luv. C'mon, you and others say the "evidence is available for all to see" regarding many things, say, evolution of humans or beyond the genus. I ask you: do ALL "see" that "evidence"?
It wouldn't even take a flashlight.
I agree. Indeed, my position is that a flashlight, even one as big as the person holding it... does absolutely NO good... if the one holding it has no eyes.
Peace!

For now, yes, dear NS (peace to you!). If we're evolving, in the manner some of you believe we are, they might well not only be called something else at some point, but proven to BE something else. I don't believe we evolve in such a manner; I do believe, however, that our perceptions, understanding, knowledge, and discernment evolves, and so, I have no doubt that everyone will "get there" at some point. Like following the white rabbit (see, not an insult at all; well, not if you get the analogy - which I was hesitant to use given the comments regarding Picard... but I though, what the hey, it fits...)... following the "black cat" might get you there quicker, though.
Peace!

If time had been taken to read some of the comments
I took all the time needed. My comment stands independent of any other comment. I made my observation and my conclusions. My premise was not wrong.
I am sure a few would probably trip over it at some point, or step on its tail. Or step on its tail and cause it to screech... and so, now perhaps realize there IS a cat in the room. Doesn't mean would find it, though, does it?
They would find the evidence of the cat, and therefore, would have no doubts that the cat existed. They don’t have to catch or touch it, they don’t have to capture it. They have found evidence of the cat, and therefore, found it. Even if they were not looking. It’s like a cop seeing a unique footprint. He doesn’t see the person, and may still need to seek, but can with full confidence announce, “Found you!” And he did. He found evidence.
Yeah, it is. But getting all to "see" the evidence is the Rubik's Cube, luv. C'mon, you and others say the "evidence is available for all to see" regarding many things, say, evolution of humans or beyond the genus. I ask you: do ALL "see" that "evidence"?
Are we still talking about cats, or education? ‘Evolution’ is not a person or object that can be ‘found’ but takes a different kind of focus Comparing evolution to a person or a cat is not an honest comparison. Apples and oranges.
I agree. Indeed, my position is that a flashlight, even one as big as the person holding it... does absolutely NO good... if the one holding it has no eyes.
Ah, they may have no eyes, but they have other senses. Remember, the room is dark, so the evidence can still manifest. In fact, in this example, nobody has eyes because it is dark. But we have 5 senses. Sight, Touch, Smell, Taste, and Hearing, and if we take away one, we can still find things. In fact, we often do.
Now if the cat is being tricky and slipping away and being really quiet, it may not be found. But that’s because it avoided being found, and therefore wants no interaction with the human in the room. Bad kitty. But the person leaves the room not knowing about the cat, and it changes nothing for them. To them, the cat simply never existed, and maybe they don’t like cats anyway. No Biggie. Life moves on.
