Christ's 'silence' on slavery.

He should have noted that large portions of the OT are fraudulent because lots of people like you believe them to be true and actually beieve and follow them

Actually, mP, people like me believe and follow HIM. Over anything and anyone else.

We listen to HIM. HE is the Word, Life, Truth. Not the OT. Not the law. Not the bible. Not Paul. Not Peter. Not a religion. Not a church. Just Christ.

Jesus talked about 'just looking at a woman' and would have ignored the elephant in the room of slavery???

Because that was not a lesson on adultery. It was a lesson on what is within a person. Because we act upon what is in our heart. So a person can outwardly follow the law (not commit adultery, not murder, not steal), but inwardly, that person can still be filled with lust, greed, anger, hate, etc. These are the things one must work at changing, and Christ can help with that... AND... when we fail and when we act upon these things (as we so often do), then his love, his blood... can cover our sin. I'm not sure how that works if we don't even acknowledge those sins in us though.

JESUS WAS A RELIGIOUS JEW. HE LOVED THE LAW AND ADHERED TO IT METICULOUSLY. HE OBJECTED TO THE UNREASONABLE APPLICATION OF THE LAW BUT HE NEVER SPOKE A WORD AGAINST IT.

HE PREACHED THE NEED TO EXCEED THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW. HE STOOD BY EVERY IOTA OF THE TORAH. TAMMY IS INVENTING HER OWN RELIGION.

No, Cofty, I don't think it is. Unless you are stating that having a faith that differs from other people's interpretations of the bible = starting a new religion.

If that is true, Q, it is because I follow and listen to HIM; not the other way around.

I'm sure there is plenty that i think, that is wrong (and has been in the past) but He teaches, and well, with a lot of patience on His behalf, lol, I learn.

    Peace,

Cofty, what does any of your latest statement have to do with your statement that I am inventing a new religion. What, in your opinion, is required for a person to invent a religion?

    Peace,

    tammy
