The changes they are making are the end.

by making stupid 16 page flyers and sending all the faithful to the nternet for their food they are making a grave error.

Deliberate or stupidity i am not sure.

Web sites take a LOT of work, not in being there but in getting people to go there.

not all the faithful have computers let alone access to internet especially in third world places.

those in first world places might go there a few times just as we take a look, but they will get more looks from this group than the faithful.

I recently asked family members if they had seen some articules, answer NO, they all have computers, all internet access..

I asked several others, if they had seen the brother giving a masturbation lecture, answer no it wouldnt be on the societies website and i should be careful where i look... so many apostate sites on the internet.

I slowely pointed out to 3 different individuals that it was on the official website, they suggested that the brother would be reproved and that it wouldnt stay there....

that is rank and file appointed peoples responcses.

Now,, if these faithful are not visiting even now,, when will they?.

they will go to download the latest wt or other material?.

it will be a VERY slow change, a change that will not be sustainable because the interest factor is NOT there to recall them.

It was hard enough getting people out in service, it will be impossible to get them feeding from this website,

the GB is DREAMING completely in LALA LAND...

Remember when we were told that "If the Goverment attacks Gods true organization you will need to form smaller groups and meet in peoples houses to keep the preaching work eveen under ban as there is a time when Jehovahs people will be separated and spread out possibly unable to recieve directions from his chosen F&DS" Paraphrasing quie a bit here but i'm sure you get the point, we might not be here for you and you will have to learn now how to subsist on your own.

Could this be used to show what is in their future, not that they thought of this in advance as I do not think that they ever thought that they would be in this position financially having to sell off branches etc. It could play right into their hand though and this kinda reminds me of the last part of the movie" The Sting" with Robert Redford where they made off with the "marks" money without him even knowing that they were still alive and had taken advantage of him.

I don't think that this is all planned out in advance, just a way to distract the rank and file while making them think that it is what was "prophet-seized" in advance.

It'd be a pretty convenient way to convince the faithful R&F that the fulfillment of the "greater number has cooled off" prophecy had come to fruition.

(Word to the wise - it doesn't count if you "fulfill" prophecy by means of cynical manipulation.)

Oh, I would bet my bottom dollar that they're abetting tax evasion - though as a "religion", they probably aren't subject to very many tax laws...

Consider the way 'Da Judge' Rutherford broke numerous laws while he was at Bethel - and especially the way he flaunted his disrespect for the law when he became powerful and eventually became the head of Bethel.

Hell, they were illegally transporting booze into Bethel in the 1920s for the old sot. That would have been good practice for further legal transgressions later on...

That may have been the point in time, in fact, when 'outside' interests began to gain 'investment' power in the Watchtower Society...

Remember that people running a non-profit can get paid (then those people would be subject to tax).

for example I remember years ago some people making a big stink that the president/ceo of the salvation army was making million dollar salary and flying around in a private jet!

so we see the governing and president being publicized, but who is the CEO, board of directors, COO, etc etc?????

Remember that the GB separated themselves from control of the WTS in the early 2000s. Those that took over were Bethel insider heavies, although I've forgotten all of their names. At the time, most Bethelites thought this was because The GB needed to insulate themselves from legal liability if anything were to "go down," thus avoiding a repeat of Rutherford et al being imprisoned and the organization going into hibernation. HOWEVER, it just as easily could have been, or be turning into, a coup.

One more thing to think about (that nobody brings up):

the specific rumors about the Annual Meeting that got changed when 9/11 happened in NYC

There were stories emerging at the time that the Society was going to change pretty much everything - holidays and much more were to be made matters of individual judgement.

and that never happened. They went all reactionary ("Armageddon!" "Soon!")

so, what became of the beliefs within the leadership? the doubts? the change of opinion?

Was there a second string of insiders who have come to run the Society? who think differently? and are discreet?
