the GB loves the rumour mill. Keeps the natives busy in their own little world
Old time JW's did some very devout JW's refuse to eat pizza with pepperroni because they believed "blood" was in the pepperroni?

As soon as you bit into any of it,blood would come gushing out..
Satan would be in the Middle of all the Blood..
In a Kayak..
Trying to paddle down your throat..
To Steal your Soul..
ROFL as usual, Outlaw!
In actuality, here they couched it more in terms of Satan hiding in the invisible, tastless blood cells that were deliberately hidden in a favorite food in order to annoy dubs.
Because yes, a powerful invisible evil spirit chooses to win his war against the Almighty God of the Universe by ruining pizzas, candy bars and lunchmeat. Great military strategist that he is.

Was on a picnic with some JWs in Solvang Ca., old Danish town, and we went into a Deli to get some things. The Deli person offered us some real blood sausage, you never saw so many people freeze in their tracks and gasp out loud

isn't it true that at bethel or on the farm if they cracked open an egg that had a little red matter in it, the whole egg was trashed?

Who in the hell would want to eat a hot dog anyways? I realize what's in them and it's sick!
Just the smell alone makes me gag.
Oh, and the leftover 'weiner juice'.

In the 60s & 70s they wre all hyped up about red wines. - ox blood was in it.
Disrespect for God’s law is so rampant that whole blood, blood plasma and blood fractions are used freely in numerous products that are sold for food. For example, it is reported that some meat packers include blood as a part of their regular recipe for wieners, bologna and other cold-meat loaves. They may not all call it blood; but, regardless of what they call it, if it is blood or part of the blood it is wrong. Not all meat packers do this by any means, but some do. In certain localities it is also known that hamburger is made up largely of fat with blood added. In Russia blood bakeries were put in operation years ago where seven parts of rye flour are mixed with three parts of defibrinated ox blood in the bread. In other lands some bakers use dried plasma powder in pastry as a substitute for egg white. And various tonics and tablets sold by druggists show on their labels that they contain blood fractions such as hemoglobin. So it is necessary for one to be alert, to be acquainted with the practices in his community, to make reasonable inquiry at places where he buys meat and to read and understand the labels on packaged goods. As the old world becomes more careless in its attitude toward God’s law on blood it is important for Christians to exercise increased care if they are to keep themselves “without spot from the world.”—Jas. 1:27.

Due to illegal adulteration of a number of Italian wines, for example, many persons have in recent years and months unknowingly purchased concoctions made from apples and molasses, animal feed, figs and dates, synthetic alcohol and dried ox blood. The Italian police reportedly tracked down about ten million gallons of adulterated wine in 1970 alone. This would suggest that anyone buying wines, especially travelers, must exercise care.

Thanks for those, Bats. I was thinking that the blood hysteria was largely fed by the rumour mill, but those links tweaked my memory. Clearly the WT started the rumours. Insanity.
I wonder how they could explain it away now that they've got their complicated rules regarding fractions.

Back in the day, pizza was not available in the U K . We lived on meat and veg, or fish and chips !
Sausages, however were viewed with suspicion by the dubs in my childhood. There were all sorts of urban myths about blood being in packaged foods. Some used to write to manufacturers about the contents of stuff. I have not heard such fears recently.
