So many NorCal people. If any of you are coming through Mt. Shasta, let me know and we can meet at the Black Bear Diner! I live in Mount Shasta City. Right now lots of clouds, but some blue sky coming through. Batten down the hatches, the rest of you -- you're getting another wave of rain, I believe, before it's over.

greenhornet -- where in the world are you?

mamochan - it's true. Terrible gridlock on the highways when it rains. I'm glad I live in a small town now.

Sierra foothills will get a lot of rain and wind tonight, according to the weather channel. Stay dry, friends!

Rain lover here too. It igves me a nice calm energy. Makes me want to pull weeds and write.

It's not cold here, so the windows are open and I have a nice nutmeg-vanilla candle burning. Got a pile of none religious cards to send to family and friends

Thursday it was pouring and sunny at the same time while I was driving around town. I thought 'rainbow', there has to be one. I turned around the city street and there it was. I could see it bottom to bottom on both sides. I felt strangley blessed.

Interesting looking place on GE . . . nice volcanoes. Especially that lava lakes area.

    sizemik,

    This area is truly beautiful.

I have drivin this route many times, We always stop at the BlackeBear Cafe in Shasta , were Hortensia lives, for waffels and real milkshakes. It's a small town with that huge Mount Shasta behind it.

From there it's down hill going north to Oregon, where there is a nice town called Ashland, that has a very good Shakespear festival . They do contempary plays too. Many world travelers are there. I love this town and hope to settle there one day.

Reporting here from what sounds like " Hurricane Sierra " watch right now . Jesus Christ. The 50 to 60 MPH winds woke me up out of a deep sleep a little after 5:00 A.M. here a half hour ago and the winds sound like a runaway freight train hitting the 70 ft. tall pines and huge oak trees surrounding our house. There are lots of tall trees here bending and swaying back and forth probably 10 to 15 ft. with each sway from wind gust. Pretty ominous looking out there.

We are kind of staying away from the windows right now. I looked on Dopplar radar on the computer weather site- there is a one hundred mile swath of red & orange rain on the radar stretching north to south starting at Redding in the north all the way to just north of Sacramento to the south. My son & his girlfriend live near Chico area right in the middle of the red & orange and we live in the Sierra right where the red & orange is just starting to creep in. The red & orange stretches 100 miles north to south and I'd say about 50 to 60 miles east to west. Pretty impressive looking storm. Definitely the hardest winds we've had here in several years if not more.

Everybody in Nor-cal stay safe now ! Will report later if our power isn't knocked out. Be safe everyone

Lovely dark and rainy here in the East Bay! The Xmas tree is up and lit, plenty of firewood stocked, cinnamon spice candle lit, homemade turkey soup in the freezer, chocolate chip cookies to be made and a Kindle full of books!

I am in the East Bay also, it seems the Center of the storm just passed over, it is starting to lighten up. The dopler on CBS is interesting, solid green with red in the Center.
