i have to give props to most athiest on jwn, for one thing, you guys dont run away, i have been having discussions on youtube with jw and it is so frustrating. what makes it frustrating is unlike me and athiest ,the jw and myself both claim the same thing that the bible is gods word, almost everytime i get into a discussion with one they make a claim i show them bible verse and they have no answer, so they attack me other than the point i bring up, than they say om under satan control, all for just using the bible. than they say not to contact them anymore. funny thing is they are commemting on an apostate video,or a jw video talking to ex jw. so to the athiest here im glad you have more courage to stay and talk. one thing me the jw and the athiest all have in common is we believe we are believing correctly, the only differance jw run away and dont want to hear what someone else has to say. so thats my good thing to say about my athiest freinds here!
athiest this is for you!

I'm a good bloke.
I'm bored with JW's commenting on my FB or YouTube and blocking me from replying. They are cowards.
I am a person that feels that if I believe something I believe it for a good reason and will defend my position.....OR......as in the case of when I was a Christian, be willing to change my position if I was proved wrong.
I'm not an atheist's atheist. I don't do science. I do logic.
I'm just me! Evidence for something is all important to me.

i 100% believe in born again christianity
If you 100% believe it then go for it. I enjoyed being a Christian but in the end I found no evidence for why I believed other than confirmation bias and cultural indoctrination.
I couldn't leave the JW's and not still have a god. It was a jump too far.
My 'Aha!' moment was sitting in church and thinking to myself: 'What am I doing here? God as described in the Bible doesn't exist and even if he did he is actually the same as satan. Satan wants worship or will kill you. Uh, oh, so does god!'
It was uphill from there. I feel I have clarity of vision beyond cultural bias.
convinced your wrong
Ditto LOL

Ravens - I'll say an un-prayer for you hahahahahahahahahaha.
JWs don't know what they believe. They are under hypnotic mind control.
So was I. The book by Steven Hassan, Combatting Cult Mind Control was a help to me.
"Minds must be cleansed" (Watchtower, June 1, 1953, p. 350 par. 24). 24 In these closing days of wickedness Jehovah’s people must demonstrate holiness. They must not foul their minds with the filthy mental food on the propaganda tables of this old world, but must feed on the feast of fat things Jehovah provides. (Isa. 25:6; 28:8.) Minds must be cleansed and made over, mental circuits formed by old-world thinking and acting faded out and new ones put in according to new-world specifications. By privately studying regularly, by attending all meetings regularly, and by engaging in all features of the preaching work regularly mental circuits are deepened and such good activities become habitual, not at all the struggle they are when the mental circuits are weak and faint because used only occasionally. For ourselves and for others, make them strong!—1 Tim. 4:16.

Unstop, I am nothing like you
Seriously, when I left the JW's, very much like Mr. Punky, I wanted to believe in God, immortality and the like. The difference is, I didn't look for a church to attend. I started reading the different forums. I found the religious circular reasoning, which is displayed as soon as scripture is quoted as"proof", the the "you need to have faith" and the illogical conclusions used to justify the unjustifiable, frustrating and a demonstration of confirmation bias.
I found the the non-theists used logic, the scientific method and logical reasoning which was much more convincing.
I have a question for, you always quote scripture, does this mean you believe the bible is infallable? If not, what parts are realible and what parts do we ignore? Once you have answered that, would you be up for a fun challenge? One that could do more than prayer ever could, it could convince me that the bible is God's word...........Think about that, you could be pulling me back from the mouth of hell!

cant leave: i hope out of my over one thousand post here ,the one thing people should know about me is i believe the whole bible, and i do not like when believers pick and choses what they want to believe. that being said there are things in the bible that i believe because there in the bible ,not because i like the thought (hell for example) i believe it because the bible teaches, not because i like it. so what you got, i gave a challange to kjw53 he ran,i will not do the same !
