The Wts believes that unless the anointed are old timers who have partaken for decades, they are either frauds, or nuts

    WT 00 1/15 p13

"the number of genuine anointed disciples of Christ is dwindling"

    WT 2011 8/15 p22

"Memorial partakers. This is the number of baptized individuals who partake of the emblems at the Memorial worldwide. Does this total represent the number of anointed ones on earth? Not necessarily. A number of factors—including past religious beliefs or even mental or emotional imbalancemight cause some to assume mistakenly that they have the heavenly calling. We thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know. The Governing Body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones."

that is one of the strangest things about this cult is they invite people of all faiths to come to this thing then spend most of the night helping them understand how the ritual does not include them ........... they want to keep most of the partakers in the closet , so insulting it's just not right , so and so is nuts or ignorant , yadda yadda . They just enjoy being insulting

A good friend of mine claimed to be anointed. Great guy but one f’d up family. He always supported all his kids no matter what they did so they wouldn’t allow him to get privileges He could talk the elders in circles using the bible so they avoided having any meaningful discussions with him. The elders would just discredit him and say he was a liar.

EP, an exception to your rule may be Blondie's husband. He strikes me as being an earnest and compassionate man, which is likely why Blondie snapped him up in the first place.

I was just being facetious. I apologize if anyone took it seriously. I have known some men who were very sincere non-asskissing elders.

" Confirmation in the Cof E that I received granted me freedom to 'take communion' but it had nothing to do with the actual Holy Spirit performing any action upon me in reality, the clergy just used the words. Of course many churches refer to the 'anointing' as being 'born again' too."

Loz, this is a matter of belief. If you don't believe it, you don't believe it. But to say the clergy were just using the words is your belief and your perception, and is to deny their sincerity, which is very hard to justify reasonably.

Also, many would say that in fact, since this is a sacrament, to deny its validity is to deny the power of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, in which that outward physical act has a real spiritual power and reality.

You are absolutely entitled to your own belief and to reject it for yourself is your right and your privilege, but perhaps you don't have the right to condemn the clergy as just saying the words unless you yourself have personal knowledge of a particular bishop whom you know to have been consciously insincere. Even then, many an Anglican (which I am not, as you know) would say that the sacrament is still valid.

Frequency of communion in different denominations:

Loz, in my church we invited the Holy Spirit to reside in our meeting. Did men do it or God?

I suppose I'd have to agree that "where 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name, there will I be also.." Counts for all who worship in faith Jgnat. I'm not taking issue with anyone about that. Having spent many years in the Protestant church and heard all that reciting and repeating of Church written catechisms etc I have become somewhat disillusioned by man made religions.

For me any man, priest, vicar, bishop, that claims to intercede for Christ is the exact same thing as what the GB profess to do. Christ is the mediator for me, he gave his life to become so, I don't need another. But I will concede, each to his own, it's up to the individual.

Men don't bestow the Holy Spirit, Loz. I don't know any church that teaches that, and I certainly do not believe it.

The Holy Spirit is received through the laying on of hands, just as the apostles did, but the action was not theirs nor that of men now. The action is God's. A man's hands are merely the channel, as it were, but actually, it's best not to try to tie it down to a descrption of physical detail, because any attempt to do so would be to try to circumscribe or limit God's Power, or the action of the Spirit. The laying on of episcopal hands is believed in the Catholic Church to be in an unbroken line coming down from the apostles in New Testament times, and because the Anglican Church believes itself to be part of the Catholic Church, my understanding of their belief is that they believe the same.

Being a dub will make you crazy regardless of your position. So take a crazy person who reads the scriptures clear message that a Christian should partake, and you have a crazy partaker. It's that simple. Just because you feel a Christian should partake doesn't make you crazy or creepy, or mean that you are better that others, or wnat to be their boss.

The reason that an exemplary publisher who partakes is not catapulted through the ranks is because JW leaders do not really believe what they preach, or stick to God's word. Also, due to the false doctrine of the heavenly calling ending, annointed people are viewed as strange, like a unicorn, or rare poke'mon, they really don't exist to the average dub. The real " ANNOINTED " in the JW mind, is the GB and a few others at world headquarters. You could be the worst person with secret sins, but as long as you are at world headquarters, you must really be annointed. Plus because of brainwashing, JW's have abdicated their right to personal/spiritual growth to the Organization/Mother. They really don't believe that they are capable of reading and understanding God's word. The GB have done their jobs well.
