Another rumor about changes in Watchtower and Awake

I don't understand why they had a Watchtower and an Awake magazine. Ain't no one read them, but JWs.

What the Governing Body needs to do is to have one magazine. They should name it J.C. (For Jehovah's Channell) In every issue, the first article is about the Governing Body as Jehovah's Channel. The second article is about OBEYING Jehovah's Channel. The third article is the consequences of not obeying Jehovah's Channel - the Judicial Committee (another JC)/ The final article is a sob story about some poor kid in a third worldl country who gave all of his money over to Jehovah's Channel or an old American who gave his house to Jehovah's Channel (instead of his worldly kids).

Think about it. Isn't that the theme of every Watchtower as it is now?

wannaexit , shame on you !

Do you realise what you have done ? You have bypassed the holy spirit and sent new-lite to the GB via an apostate site.

just the Awake, at the most, for door to door, or laudramats is sufficient to waste. Public Watchtower total waste, nobody reads that.

I suspect that the Awake will be the next to go. It might take several years for this to happen.

Yes, lets not run ahead of 'god's' organization now!

Although, I do like the sound of the Awatchtower/Awaketower.

    Concentrated verbal diarrhoea...

hmm...its a novel idea and I'm pretty sure nobody has done it before so it could be a success.

I can definitely see this happening.

If they do it they will probably group both magazines under the Awake! banner and just make Watchtower a members-only title.

I can't understand how they condemn the worldly but still quote them as authority on science in the awake mag and now they quote worldly philosophers .

If this is true I think Awake will be dropped.

The doom and gloom front pages of Watchtower will have a more Awake look to them. The fascination with "the end of the world" is over now. IMO

How many people have tons of those mags lying around the house?

its been a nightmare. ive just finished clearing out my dub-dads house. he's gone into a care home.

watchtower rubbish everywhere. magazines stuffed neatly into empty cereal boxes. dozens of them-- a lifetimes collection.

    stashed everywhere--bedroom wardrobes--under the beds--in kitchen cabinets--living room cabinets--i found them everywhere.

several trips to the council tip--in the cardboard skip (dumpster ?). hope fully these will be burned in a power-generater--rather than landfill.

good riddance. i feel so much better already

I think it makes every sense, from an administration viewpoint, to have a magazine for in-house consumption (Watchtower) and another one for public distribution. I thought about this years ago, and if it becomes reality, I wouldn't be surprised at all. The current distinction between a more religious-oriented public edition of the "Watchtower" and a more Readers' Digest-like "Awake" makes no sense anymore. The only advantage is to have two different front covers to choose from. They should blend them into one and have both types of articles inside and have front covers that draw attention to different articles inside.
