A question for those that have been around this board for a long time

    I compare being an Ex-JW to being a survivor of the Titanic. As the years go by you become an object of curiousity. Nobody really understands except others who were there and experienced it.

    For all practical purposes, it is a totally unique experience, mindset and injury. Yes--it is an injury. Or maybe one of those diseases like malaria that flare up now and then.

    I look on JWn as a family.

    Im new here though I left the org long ago. Because I grew up surrounded by heavies, power in the org had a face. So I have a minor fascination with JW history, some of the individuals in it, the power structure and the nature of all the duplicity. I will probably disappear soon. There are some interesting people on here.

    No big deal. You get brought up with something you'll probably take an interest in it for evermore. To do otherwise for me would mean blocking out a part of my life. I have moved on but I haven't needed to block it out, although it occupies my mind a whole lot less than it once did.
