David was the man - pretty much did everything bad ( yet still is held up by the WTBTS as a wonderful example). Even in his dying days , he had a young virgin named "Abishag" ( the occasional mention of her name always raised a few smiles in my KH ) who cuddled up to him at night-time to keep him warm. She was then passed to Solomon as a concubine who doubtless ensured that her virgin status became a thing of the past.

    DOZY:
Thats because the Bible is obsessed with penises. The story your referring too is of course implyng David was a stud even when he was half dead. Thi s is the same nonsense that islam repeats with their 77 virgins for martyrs etc. Im special because im circumsized etc.

For somebody who is held up as a shining example of righteous, David is a piece of crap.

If I were Jesus (who I don't believe exists in the form religion says), I'd be ashamed of my family tree.

...........but then scum always rises to the top!

As for the Devil.....another imaginary excuse for religion to control.....but at least in the fable he told Eve the truth about the scumbucket Jehovah!

Where are the believers in this thread? Their silence is deafening. TEC normally comes wading in as Gods spokeswoman, ....mind you i'm not complaining, relentless unashamed circular reasoning does my brain in....

I think a lot of the New Testament writers were weirdos; like Jude, the writers of 2 Peter, Colossians, the 3 letters of John- and of course, Paul. They were all sexually repressed and probably went mad because they couldn't get their rocks off...

First, joke-hova itself. That thing wanted us all enslaved, and still does even after Satan did all He could to liberate us. Joke-hova cannot stand to have us free.

Abel--for killing animals at a time when people were supposed to be vegetarian. But again, joke-hova is worse because that thing wasn't satisfied with Cain's sacrifice of his produce (since when did joke-hova deserve any sacrifice at all?).

Jacob--that lazy slob that existed off the backs of others and tricked them into slavery. That thing tried enslaving Esau, tricking Esau out of his birthright.

Tyrant David. Did that thing have any right to slaughter Gentiles for not worshiping joke-hova? Just minding their own business, worshiping the pagan Gods and Goddesses--so they have to die?

Or what about that scumbag that tore down all the altars to pagan Gods and Goddesses? Josiah tried destroying worship to these pagan Gods so future generations would be deprived of what true spirituality was like. Shame on Josiah!

Paul--for putting excessive regulations on sex, denegrating women, homophobia, and for starting Christi-SCAM-ity as we know it.

The nazarene itself, for codifying just about every aspect of human existence and preparing the groundwork for mass human enslavement. At least that thing was nothing more than fiction, made up from 18 different Gods that fit the same profile.

You know, it seems that God likes passion and sincerity. Even the "prodigal son" showed that he had to have truth in his life, even if he didn't understand that at first. He was willing to sacrifice what he had to have truth.

Others, don't go that far. They are able to compromise themselves and adapt.

David was flawed, yet passionate. So even though he erred in a great way, when he followed God, he had that same intensity. God likes those who are intense and who are willing to give up everything to have that ultimate truth in their lives. So when that intensity meets with truth, then you have a more devoted person. As the Bible notes, those who had erred and then repented, are more devoted than those who had always maintained. Thus God from the beginning has chosen the more passionate, like Abel over Cain. Some people do good but have little challenges. Some with many challenges may err but then when they find their way back, they are truly passionate about God.

Be either "hot" or "cold" if you are a drink. If you are luke warm, then you get vomited out!

Even so, God does have his favorites, even as flawed as they often are.

Lars: having a favourite nation based on some ancesgtor 2000 yars before is racism. How does one explain God loving them more than his other children.
