No, constants are still there fixed e.g. speed of light, E=mc 2 , etc. CERN and satellites are getting additional info plus discovering new things like recent Higgs boson. Bottom line: we're getting more and more sharper understanding of how it all works; this means new layers of physics mathematics .

Yes, conservation of energy and matter laws are still fixed and working fine i.e. no net loss of energy or matter, universe is still a closed system in this regard.

Yes, we know the universe will never recoil, i.e. stop expanding and bounce back. So no bounce back crunch.

the equation for circumference: 3.14--X 2radius is linear.

add only 14 meters to a 20 000 km* long rope around the earth and you could lift it <2m EVERYWHERE.

to let an average human (not just a mouse or Panda) pass underneath. ( ignoring the unevenness of the surface)

add 2.25 meters to the 13.8 billion light year DISTANCE (or radius) to the Big Bang (according to Plank sattelite findings) and you would add only 14 m to the perimeter or SIZE of the whole Universe, (or its 2 dimensional expanding-ballon model).

The comos has been moving, expanding through time for 13.8 billion years, and the light that "Plank" registered carried an unchanged message a true picture, for it arrived here the same moment it had left*, although space had stretched as it went. .

Being a heretic, i think that the universe is already in collapse mode, and thats why we have zillions of stars and planets and all kinds of solids. Thats why we, as passengers of the milky way, are on a collision course with another galaxy. All of the above rules against the 'everything is flying away from everything else' idea. I'm not totally serious about that, but,,, The guy who furnished 'proof' of continued expansion did so just a few yrs ago, and he was handsomely paid w a nobel prize. Anyhow, things aren't that permanently nailed down, in this universe.

"Plank" is just a better tool than COBE and that one better than the seminal horn in New Jersey.

The subatomic particle world is permanent, which is the underpinning of everything physical in the universe. Nothing to worry about with the universe.

But earth with man and nukes; that's a situation.

WT BtS new light is:-- that the formers (science) deals with verifyable REALITY, whereas

the Society's "Newer light" is based on INTERPRETATIONS of STORIES, FABLES featuring

a snake talking to a lady cloned from a spare rib, a vegetarian daring to offer soon to be rotting meat on an altar,-- whereas good organically grown veggies were rejected,--the 10 000 meter deep, recent flood,-- talking asses, a planet that stops rotating, starts again in 12 hours not trillion of years, walking on water, etc etc etc. none verifyable and repeated today. and/or

recification of procedures which are a heritage of a troubled wt past. so:

there is a very basic difference here like day and night.

on all counts.

In 1998, saul perlmutter presented proof that the expansion of the universe is accelerating. His proof was based on his study light coming from super novas. In 2011, he recieved the nobel prize for that. Before that, one popular view was that universal expansion was slowing down, and a big crunch was likely. Permutter changed that view. That is only 15 yrs ago.
