A Couple of thoughts on July WT

I actually got a bucket close by and read some of the Study Ed. July 13 W.T My first reaction was amazement at how very muddled the whole thing was, I think if I had all those months to write articles since the noo Lite was presented at the AGM I could make a much better job of arguing the new ideas, and our very own SD7 could do even better !

For instance, it is claimed in the chart, and the 2nd article I think, that the Harvest began in 1914, by whom ?

nobody had been appointed to harvest had they ?

they also state that "we do not know who belonged to the Wheat Class in that long period of time " (from 33AD to 1919) so how do they know the individuals they say were chosen in 1919 were Wheat ?

Jesus is supposed to have chosen these ones, as a GB/FDS and then he goes off again, leaving it all to them. In the parable he gives responsibility to a slave, and then comes back and decides if that slave is discreet and faithful, or if he is evil, and a beater of his brother slaves.

That return we are told in two or three places, is visible to all. No slinking in and appointing and going off again invisibly with no proof you have ever been is shown in scripture for Jesus. Once he returns, he is back to judge.

And the WT does not teach that Jesus left (in 1919) as the parable states, they say He has been Present since 1914.

Then there is the matter of the Classes, Wheat, Weeds, FDS, all classes. Evil Slave ? Nah, there isn't one.

To excuse this "Class", as it used to be, going off the map they quote some unamed "Greek Scholar" as saying that the word "if" shows it is hypothetical, this scholar does not point out that the word if does not appear in the Greek, but that aside, if that makes the Evil Slave hypothetical so does the "IF his Master on arriving finds him doing so" that refers to the FDS.

Another thing where they have made it awkward for themselves is the claim that Armageddon parallels 70 C.E. After 70 CE there was no Governing Body, (not that there was really one before) but the words of Jesus directly to the congregations in Revelation makes it plain they were autonomous. So as soon as the big A strikes the GB should be raptured to parallel 70C.E, so who is going to run things on earth ?

More and more as you look at this latest debacle you realise they have no one to look at their latest brain farts and show the problems with them, there have been many threads and posts on here showing the errors, and there will be more no doubt,

how come nobody in HQ asked the same questions we are ?

Because in HQ you are not allowed to ask questions...you just follow...I liked some of your points...the IF point is very good...

It will be interesting to hear from those still attending meetings what the feedback is in the congregations.

The dubbies are sooo excited at this nooooooo light.

They run up & ask 'Have you read the July WT?? I wont tell you what it say's, you wait 'til you read it, it's just sooooo thrilling, Jehovah is really speeding things up.'

    They think something is iminent.

They think people are pouring into the borg for safety.

I spent 50 years of my life as a JW & I can't see what all the fuss is about............am I now the one saying:

Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

I just think it seems the holy spirit only sheds new light when its back is against the wall & the old men in Brooklyn need to save their credibility.

You know, when this article was leaked early to Cedars a few weeks back, I had the thought that maybe WT HQ did it on purpose, knowing the good folks at JWN would dissect it and expose it's flaws. In that way, WT would have time to do some rewriting to fix the problems before publishing. Turns out that wasn't the case.

The only explanation I can think of for that July 15 drivel is... PRIDE! They don't have to try and they know it.

Yes, the IF point is really good and I agree that they have made the whole thing confusing even though they had plenty of time to 'prepare' it but that is probably on purpose.

good and clear. The if argument is good, if FADS will try to use the IF as the hypothetical defense.

By limilting the FADS to the 8, they limit the evil slave to the eight too, a distinct possibility.

This is trying to re-write History of the past. the invisible History, it is all made up!

hopefully the R&F with the right stuff will know the right thing to do.

The entire JW eschatology is eisegesis built around the fallacy of the 1914 creed.

Psychologically, this 'new light' is sheer egocentrism by the Governing Body:

Questions you can't answer or answers you can't question? The light keeps getting brighter??????
