"Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."

    Heartofaboy,

I have guilted myself before thinking I was ridiculing the coming just as the scripture that you quoted. However, if the coming is true, I am content to wait and work on my christian personality. My contention is not where is the Coming; but rather, why has WT been saying they are God's channel to mankind and the obvious fact is that they haven't hit the side of a barn with a tank with their expectations.

Having the WT organization blast that Armeggedon is imminent for 130 years, insisting that we not just "seek the kingdom first", but that the kingdom is the only thing that we should seek and it's done by placing literature, building kingdom halls, assembly halls, and branches all of which they have found a way to profit off of is nonsense. WT has had millions of people that have "listened" to their ramblings for over a century, but the scripture you quoted is not a free ticket to continuous speculation without your credibility shot.

Hello, I have not jet introduced myself, but I will later.

I was thinking.....if the FDS are equal to the 9 members of the governing body....and they will only get their appointment over the houshold of the master during the great tribulation...then what is the point of such an appointment?

Right after that tribulation the "new order" will begin and Gods kingdom will rule the earth.
Jesus is the king and 144000 will rule with him.

All the members of the governing body are "anointed" so they will be kings anyway....according to the WTS.

What then is the appointment over the household?

What more authority can they receive?

Do they receive more authority then the other 143,991 kings?

To excuse this "Class", as it used to be, going off the map they quote some unamed "Greek Scholar" as saying that the word "if" shows it is hypothetical, this scholar does not point out that the word if does not appear in the Greek, but that aside, if that makes the Evil Slave hypothetical so does the "IF his Master on arriving finds him doing so" that refers to the FDS.

    FYI.

They no know that the majority of their audience have been trained not to think for themselves, they can write whatever shit they want and the faithful will just nod and agree.

Thanks to all for your comments, and thanks to Ann OMally for showing that indeed a bit of Greek scholarship agrees with the WT on the hypothetical nature of this statement about the Evil Slave.

I did not disagree with the WT on this, its just that it makes the previous statements about the FDS hypothetical as well, which makes the whole thing sound what it is, a PARABLE, and not a prophecy.

The avg dub won't even get it, or get that it's different. I had an argument with a dub about the generations, and he had no opinion to offer one way or the other. But that the end is soon, real soon. Those are the type of issues dubs latch on to. Anything beyond, "we are God's people, and the end is near", isn't grasped

Question: How has the light gotten brighter for the sheep who can't understand the changes ?

Another Question : If you can't see ( understand ) the new light, aren't you still in the dark , becuase your

told to follow even though you can't really see ( Understand )?

Phizzy: And the WT does not teach that Jesus left (in 1919) as the parable states, they say He has been Present since 1914.

    Nice catch.

It's all nonsense: sheer, utter nonsense!
