hey villagegirl .. you know how you are always saying atheist are stuck in a watchtower mindset?

Have you ever looked your self in that light.. you come across as that to me .. in that .. you are a know it all .. and if people don't see things the way you do they are wrong.

You seem pretty sharp.. but nobody has all the answers, and any one thinks they do is lying to themselves

Do you ever say to yourself.. what if I'm wrong .. I know I do...

@ VillageGirl-- Who Christ brothers are not. They are not counterfeit Christians, they are not atheist, they are not pagans and heathens. These ones are the ungodly and sinners. "If a righteous man is being saved with difficulty, what showing will an ungodly man and a sinner make?" 1 Pet 4:18

Christ mother and brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it. (Luk 8:21) When they are hungry we feed them, when they are naked we clothe them, when they lose their kingdom halls from natural disasters we rebuild it for them, when they are in prison for refusing military service we comfort them. You are misinterpreting the scripture in Matthew chapter 25.

This will be my last post on this site. Bad association spoils useful habits.

smart water: @ luke 8: "those that hear the word and do it" that shows the flawed wt doctrine wizards who teach falsely that Christ's Brothers & Sisters are ONLY THE REMNANT of the 144 000 or their overlapping generation REPLACEMENTS.

Many religions do the charitable works that Jesus stipulated and do not burden suffering souls with papers containing ever redundant doctrine/dates/prophecy re--re--re--arrangements.

pull the plug and watch the not so smart watcht water wind it's spiral down.

the useful habit of reading the bible for what it really says.

Tater-T I USED to know everything, then I woke up one day

and realized everything I had believed was WRONG and my

parents were dead, and it was too late to tell them I was sorry.

Sorry for all Christmases I missed, from my "conversion as jw"

until after their death. They had spent so much time and care

trying to make the most wonderful Christmases any child

could imagine. I see the "know-it-all' attitude here a lot.

So I guess I am a fairly standard know-it-all in this company.

Its from years of going house to house thinking we "had the truth"

and everybody else didn't. Too much fighting goes on here and too

much trying to put the other person down and too much

one-upmanship. You also see "martyrs" here and deliberate attacks

covered by some facade of "sweetness". I have had a computer since

    1982 and I have a brand new 27" iMac and Adobe CS6

and that is what I do on a computer; Illustrator, Photoshop,

InDesign, using a WACOM tablet. I do graphic art and photography

and print out on an Epson 3880 pigment printer.

I never ever joined a "forum" before this one. It seems very jumbled

and disjointed but may be thats the norm ??

smartwater - Christ's "brothers" or sisters are:

whoever he wants them to be.

The WT doesn't get to tell Jesus what to do.

Read the Bible; Jesus said he would

dwell within his followers , sounds weird to you right ?

He also said he would be with them, be as a friend,

and he did not give a list of various classes.

Those who hear the word of God are not listening

to the Watchtower. Because, if God was with the

Watchtower they would not keep making predictions

that never come true, Example: 1925

(where are the "Prophets of Old' that Millions Now Living

Will Never Die said would be resurrected

    in 1925? ) When a "prophet" prophesied,

( predicted an event as God's representive)

and it does NOT come true, that means he is a False Prophet.

Dueteronomy 18:22 The WT and governing body are False Prophets.

mP Jesus does NOT waste "pages in the gospels about taxation"

he was asked ONCE whether they should pay taxes and he said,

"render unto Caesar that which is Caesars(the coin )

and render unto God that which is God's"

    mP:

Not quite, there are numerous stories, parables etc about taxation. Google "Jesus tax" and you will find dozens of examples. Amazingly the first English slave ship was also called jesus in his honour. Apparently the Europeans a few centuries back acknowledged Jesus position.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slave_ship

    - The rush to Bethelehem to pay tax by J & Mary.

    - Pay unto caesar as you have mentioned.

    - The parable of the FDS

    - The parable about the 3 slaves who are given money to invest, and one puts in the ground while the master goes away.

    - is fine with Matthew being a former tax collector.

    - paid the temple tax with a coin from a caught fish.

I wonder whether Jesus' eyes twinkled when he told Peter to cast a hook without bait into the sea, catch a fish, take money out of its mouth and pay the temple tax (Matthew 17:24-27).

he Pharisee & the Tax-Collectora sermon on Luke 18:9-14

    Luke 19:1-10

    New International Version (NIV)

    Zacchaeus the Tax Collector

19 Jesus entered Jericho (A) and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig (B) tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. (C)

5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

What a lie. He never had a meal with a non jew or women. There no stories with a women sitting at his table sharing a meal. Women are always prseented as lessers. Christian art reflects this in a very honest way. Women are never treated as equals.

mp: before you call names, read your bible: John 4: 40-42, he stayed in a Samaetain (non- jewish), (palestiniann) city for 2 days, of course he perhaps did not eat , fasted for 40 days before, but of course had a good conversation over a drink (of water) with the non Jewish lady at the well. it would have been easil make that spiritual too, like at the Canaa wedding the water to wine thing. . so, you are arguing from very scanty bible knowledge. its safer to stick to topics you are top at.

    @prologos

Just because he stayed in a Samaritan city does not mean he ate with Samaritans. The jews were well known for not eatting with gentiles. This very situation occassions a few times in the writings of Paul and we all know the majority of his travels were out side of Judea. It wasnt too long ago that America had a similar system itself and people just accepted this custom.

Your second point about the chat with the woman at the well again highlights that Jesus is respecting the social heirarchy. He does not offer any assistance to the woman because drawing water was womans work. In the Bible its always women drawing water. At no stage does he assist her in her heavy work.

Actually at the wedding Jesus was rude to his mother on several occassions. I would encourage that you read the text and pay attention to his manner towards his mother. I found some scriptures you might enjoy reading.

    You can check this out in Matthew 12:46 – 50, Mark 3:31 – 35, or Luke 8:19 – 21.

Of course im wrong show me a scirpture.
