Well, once again it has been shown to me that I should not even try- I am not a skilled debater. I'm a reader. I see over and over that anyone who says that believe the Bible (and there is certainly a lot of room in that statement) is tromped on and disrespected. But my point is still valid. I was specifically adressing the utter lack of credit and respect given to people in those ancient days; they were a lot more savvy than any of you want to think. History is amazing and fascinating and stranger sometimes than any fiction. But most people today would rather believe in pseudo science than scripture.

I feel many people refuse to believe in the bible out of fear. Most believe in this huge destruction of human existence by GOD.....it clearly makes no sense in the fact that Jesus Christ is our savior. If every eye shall see him coming in the clouds with great glory, how would it make any sense to believe that GOD is going to destroy us if people are going to see Christ? hmmmm

BTW applehippie, I compliment you on your attempt to draw out the good from those that wrote the bible

This qualifies as an EXTRAORDINARY claim. What extraordinary PROOF can you provide to support your claim?

My bet is that you can offer NO proof, because these are just reflections of your imagination and the way you WISH it could be.

You are asleep at the wheel of life and want your slumber to be "respected." Disaster looms ahead...

No, they were very smart con artist too!

Calling science, suedo-science is to say politely giving away your level of education.

Let me educate you on where science came from. It came from religous clergy (muslims then spread to christians) trying to find truth in scripture. They would ask a fellow clergy to read a scripture and then tell them what they thought without telling them their conclusion first to see if it matched the original one. If it didn't he knew he was wrong and moved on. That evolved over time into the scientific method we use today to find out facts and theories. Unfortunaly it fell out of favor with religion as it tended to clashes with established religous traditions and leadership.

Lol, really, people need to believe in it because of fear. Fear of non-existance.

I wish Jesus as you see him was true, that'd be very nice.

So, what you're saying is my archaeology professor believed in Early Hominids because of fear?

I think that the word to describe them should start with "Goat" and end with "er" but with a completely different word in the middle. Let the reader use discernment.
